I don't know how many have seen these. I happen to stumble across them because outside of bud my other hobbies include reptiles and aquariums

They came out with lighting for reef tanks. When you read about lighting for coral its all about lumens just like bud.

Here are 2 they came out with. The 1st is just Daylight CFL' s but they call them VHO for very high output. In the 1st pic this fixture puts out over 10,000K. I have seen them go up to 15,000K
The second pic is is actually a Metal Halide with CFL's and LED's. You can get them without the LED's. These put out over 20000K and I have seen them go to higher. The fixture has cooling fans built in. And get his; its only 2 3/4 inches high. These are used with Coral that comes from deeper parts of the ocean so you need stronger light. They can't give off much heat or your water temps wil rise cooking everything in it. For those with small spaces, ventilation issues, heat issues., this could be a good thing down the road

These are crazy expensive now but should come down in price as the newness wears off
