Given that choice I'd probably go for the Omega Luna. It's the only one that specs the diodes they use. They also don't incorrectly refer to their LED drivers as ballasts like the other two do.

Is it a led driver if it is actually a HPS ballast, but used to drive leds? I guess so, but it's not incorrect to say it is a ballast.

that's a nice piece of hardware. why they are doing it that way?

Maybe hps doesn't sell and they have some extra ballasts? :D Honestly, I have idea. It would be handy when changing over from hps to led if the leds worked with any digital hps ballast, but they seem adamant you only use the lumii black ballasts.

Maybe these 2 devices share some similar integral parts and they just had to add a converter to their old ballast.

Is it a ballast though, or a driver inside of a typical ballast housing? There aren't many LEDs which operate off a ballast, and if they do, they still need an internal driver and are generally inefficient. My guess is that they are just putting a driver in a ballast housing, so that they don't need to manufacturer too many different parts.

"THIS BALLAST CAN BE USED TO DRIVE THE BLACK 720W LED FIXTURE!"

I still don't know why though :D well there are the people who like to run led in summer and hps in winter...
