cfl's from an old coral reef tank

i'm growing using 2 65 watt 50/50 bulbs in my closet wich is 3x5.i was wondering if anyone else has used these types of bulbs.their a little on the expensive side but you get better coverage.instead of being coiled their streched out.i cant remember what kelvin they are.one bulb is cool white n the other is a blue.supossed to mimick the light recived in the ocen waters coral come from.
idk how to upload pics but if someone could point me in the right direction id gladly show my setup.

their 10000k n actinc 460nm not to sure what the nm is. im about three weeks in.

cant neone atleast tell me their the wrong kelvin n im doin shitty.im a horrible daddy.just one comment from nebody.

those look kinda like pl-l bulbs, aka 2g11 sockets, aka L-type flouros. 10k by itself is no good, you'll end up with too bushy of plants..which can be a bad thing. you should mix some lower K in there around 3000k to balance it out...
those type of bulbs are very efficient...much more so then t-5ho or coiled cfls, but a 10k spectrum is too "blue". do they have a 2 pin or 4 pin base? If those are in fact pl-l's, there's tons of growers using those currently, they are the best flouro lights you can get atm as far as watts/lumens per sq foot. I've seen some great results with them, but those are grows that are using the 3k-5k range

thats a good idea their a four pin square n yeah they are far more efficent then the thos i found a site with em for like 26 dollars in 6500 and 6000ks also coral life makes a color max that glows a pinkish color particularlly for freshwater plants.the theory behind that is the plants will use a red spectrum better because the blue is reflected because blue n green are in the same spectrum.im thinkin of adding these to offset the blue.the only problem is funding cause the ballest or fixtures are expencive abouy one hundred bucks.maybe ill just have to get the coiled cpf's for now.

check 1000bulbs.com for the fulham workhorse ballasts, they're alot cheaper than 100$ more like 30-50$usd one could put together a 110w pll setup with ballast and sockets for 50$ from that site. not sure if they sell the 65 watt ones, but they have 55w and those would be safe to overdrive to 65w (imo).

also the higher rated K bulbs(7-10k) are much more expensive, 3000k to 4000k bulbs average about 4-6$ a piece where as the 7000k-10000k range cost about 20$ each. I'd figure out the socket type and look for some 3000k bulbs to even out the spectrum...you should be able to get 3-4 3000k bulbs shipped for cheaper then the cost of one 7-10k bulb.
