Cfls for 2x4 tent.

Hey guys first time grower here.. doin a 2x4 tent with 3 plants. Giving the cfl route a try. Did 6400 k for most of veg now added some 2700 what’s your thoughts on a mix for bloom.

Haven't seen a CFL grow for a while. That should be as good a mix as any.

I always liked running one 2700 for every 2 6400 for vegging smaller plants but would eventually get them under a 400W MH then a couple of 400W HPS for flowering.

How are you for drainage in those pails? I'd take a round file to the bottom rim or cut notches so water can get out from under easier and catch trays are nice too. I almost bought a bunch of those pails last time they were on sale for about $3 each. Sold without lids too at that price but you could buy them for another buck or so.

I'd check out those LED light strips to get some more light cheap for a better yield.

Plants seem to be liking it tho and look real healthy!

I have done this myself years back and built stealth set ups for others, what we ended up with was bonsai plants and bonsai yields, though nothing wrong with the quality.

If I were going to do it again I would use household LED bulbs, cut off the globes. Aim for like for like as far as wattage and you will get significantly more light to your plants.

The good thing about that is you can pick up one or two here or there at any dollar store or anywhere that has an offer on and slowly replace them without a big sting to your wallet.

Bottom of Pails are drilled and notched for drainage. These will be getting moved into tent as it should be here in a few days. Goin to keep the CFLs through flower but will look at adding some led. Plants are loving it they seem to be doin well. They were planted Jan 5 from seed.

Just an update. Added some 2700 to the mix. Still in veg mode
And running 12 6500 and 12 2700 cfls. They r 23 watts. So total of 552 watts. Which gives 184 watts per plant. Been growing in a closet but tent shows up Monday
