i was going to get a small (around 6 sites) hydro cloning set up. was wondering do places like home depot, menards, lowes carry any cfl's that would be good enough for about 6 clones in a small hydro kit until they get transfered to a bigger unit for flowering, if so what am i looking for in a cfl light never cloned before.

thanks

cfl, the spirally looking goofy light bulbs

for the veg and clones id get anything above 23w with a color K temp of 6000+

like get say 6 light bulbs, i think u should get 4 high K (6000+) bulbs and 2 lower K (2000+-)

and u shud be good,

the clones dont need much light, too much and shit will die,

how much light would you give them while they arew developing roots? then after they have a good root system is the amount of light and nutrients the same as a normal veg cycle?

For basic vegging I used 2 X 26W (100w eq) with a Y splitter.. total cost $12.. with minimal stretching ..just keep light 3/4" away. (seedlings further for a couple of days)..but check daily and adjust..
But more light is better.. more light = more weed.

well what do u want to do with ur mother plant? if you are just trying to keep it alive until next growing season then just put a couple flourescent lights on it and it should be fine. if ur trying to put it back in full blown veggie state then get some 400 watt mh and hps bulbs.
but like i said if ur just trying to keep her alive it doesnt take all that much light.

I was just looking at the grow site advertised here.. prices are good, plus I think RIU members get a 10% discount, if I'm not mistaken.......

I was at home depot earlier with all the stuff you described in my hand and said effit! lol How many plants do you/can you veg under these 2 lights? The problem is my cab is too hot for seedlings I was told. I have a few bagseed and my boy just gave me a Blueberry seed from a sack he had which is the only one I'mreally trying to salvage and hopefully it a female.

i have been ass and i been reading that you dont want to give clones a lot of light because you dont want that much photosynthesis occuring you want energy going to developing roots. just asking a simple question, how long do you leave the cfl on the clones while developing roots, were all not experts like you dik
