cfl question

Is one 42w good for vegging? 2800 Lumens.
I'm new to this so I'm using a cardboard box, I don't know the exact size of the box.
Should i upgrade light? Or more of them.

Oh and I bought the cfl thinking it was a daylight bulb. it's soft white does that make a difference?

Any help would be awesome.

you want to use a blue spectrum around 6500k's for veg, and use Red Spectrum around 2700k's for flowering.

Ok first off one 42 watt prob isnt enough. Also you're gonna want to get higher kelvin bulbs, more towards 6500k.Lower wattage bulbs are more efficient watt per lumen.

I suggest getting two 23 watt, bright white/6500k bulbs per plant.

Good luck man, check out my grow in my sigbongsmilie

Also you will need more than 1 as your plant grow one might be enough for a seedling but not for long.

dude how big is your box ? is it just one plant ? and yes it does matter , plants only need to types of kelvins , the 2700k-ish and around the 6500k, if its one plants and u have decent reflection coverage u might be able to get away with just 1 , but it will take longer and u probly wont yeild as much bud, i would advise atleast 2 for 1 plant

It's a 2ft x 3ft carboard box.
I'm using a couple emergency blankets for reflection.
And it's gonna be one plant.

what should i use and how many?

Like i said it's a 42w cfl that replaces a 200w
For some reason i think it's 6500k
sound right?
