from what I've been reading you'll need 6 per plant. 3 overhead and the other 3 on the sides so the whole plant will get the light. They recommend 42w bulbs, 6500 for vegging then 2700 for flowering. So, yeah it's gonna run you close to $100 for all of your lights. I'm short on bucks so I'm getting my vegging CFL's first. Should run me between $50-60. When my plants are a couple weeks from flowering then I'll get my 2700's. Also, make sure your box is reflective, using mylar preferabbly and not aluminum foil. Keep the lights about an inch away from the plants. Again, this is all knowledge that I have gained from reading the posts here. By the way, Light bulbs, Rope Lights, Halogen and Fluorescent bulb - 1000-Bulbs - The Light Bulb Superstore is a good place to order from.

Peace

Yeah, those 26w 6500k will get the plant going. For flower, use the 42w 2700K (warm white). You can also mix the two when flowering but keep the ratio heavier on the red side.

Last time I was at the department store I saw that GE had a new 45w warm white which produces 2900 lumens. Maybe you can find those.

*edit*
Those 42watters are listed as soft white.

is 120v all you guys got?
thought you had 240v outlets too or is that just some ppl?

i got two 125w from that guy last year, $50 delivered, couldn't buy one for that price locally.
they were cheap, they're built cheap, they look and feel cheap, but they're really bright and plants grow under them

i was on walmart.com and i guess they don't sell the 23 watt cfl's in stores so i think im gonna go with 26 watt (100watt equiv) daylight bulbs instead they come in a six pack for $20 Walmart.com - Always Low Prices! - GE CFL Daylight Light Bulb: 26 Watt (100W Equiv), 6-Pk

Oh yeah sorry, I meant 26W not 23W.. My buddy did a full cfl grow using just the 26W daylights, and 26W soft whites (which you can find at some grocery stores/ larger chains) for a buck a piece.. Just buy 10-15 of those suckers for flowering.. gets the job done.
