Hello all, this is my first post, but i have been wandering around for the last, idk 3 years, and i figured it is a goo time to post my latest and best planned out grow. I have grown a few plants in the past, but this is the first one i am actually putting thought into. So my setup is as follows; i am using a 33" t x 18" w x 1' d sterlite tub. Its standing on edge, long ways, and it houses my lights. The whole thing is lined it a mylar coated padding and the while box itself is made of thermo-ply. I am using 3x23w cfl 1x13w cfl and 1x15w led panel. The only thing that concerns thus far with this grow is the soil. Im using MG orchid mix, only because i had to get somthing this is the best walmart had. Next grow is a DWC in a 3 gal bucket with quality nutes from my local hydro store, live in colorado springs, plenty of options. :) the plant is on 18/6 right now and was FIM'd but didnt work, just slowed top growth and deformed some leaves, usually i top, but i wanted to try somthing different. Anyway, i dont know how to post pics, but she is just under week 4 and has GREAT veg growth. She is almost 6" tall but is starting to bush out!! Just how i lile it. If i had the time, i would look up how to post pics cause i know there is no way to critique a plant in which you have no idea what it looks like. :p my bad ladies and fellas, cause i know tjat women grow grass too!! But i will get pics ASAP ,q
 
To post a pic when you're posting a post you click the little button that has a picture of a tree it's next to like a piece of film lol so go ahead and post pics asap! Sounds like a cool little grow. Where did you get the led panel? I really want to invest into LEDs for my next grow.

Thanks man. Ya im on the mobile site on my phone and it doesnt give me an option to insert pics. But anyway, ill keep trying, i really wanna get them up. I got the led panel from a thrift store but they are the shitty ones sold on ebay. It doesnt give off enough light grow a plant solo, but i have it mounted on the back wall of the box as supplimental lighting, but the plant likes to lean towards it just a little though.
 
So im doing this from my phone, but i think i got it down.

This is the grow box, its about 3.5 or 4 feet tall, 2 feet wide +/- , and about 2 feet deep.

And this is the outside of the box, i have two comp fans running inside, one for exhaust and a 8" desk fan pulling in at the bottom where the passive intake vent is..

Any and ALL comments are welcome. Im just trying to get my grow out there and get some pointers along the way. Ive seen many many great grow logs on this site, and id like to be one of them some day.
 
Nice little setup you got there should grow something pretty nice. Plant looks awesome too by the way. Is it a bagseed?
 
i may be wrong but that led board looks like one of those 14W crappy crappy things that actually do nothing apart from make pretty colours. cant even grow cress under that thing. although i may be wrong, what is it?
 
Thanks man!! Ya it is a setup constructed mostly of job site materials. Ya its a bagseed from medical bag my coworker got from the dispensery. Im hoping i get a decent yeild out of it cosidering its all cfl and just the one led panel. My biggest concern is the soil im using, it miracle gro, and we all know how bad that shit is. I cand feed her cause soil is loaded, but its all i could get my hands on. So for flowering, starting in about 3 weeks, ill probably burn some pine and feed it ashes in the water or maybe some molasses or somthing. But ill keep this post updated, i guess this is going to be my grow log, first post, first log!! How exiting!! Haha
 
Ya it is one of those crappy led panels off ebay. It says 15w on it, but whats one watt when it comes to this thing. Im just low on funds so i got that thing for $6 from the thrift store my me, its just supp. lighting until i get some Y splitters and 4 more cfls for flowering. Then when i get a bigger box a bulb and some good vent equipnent, then i can run my 400w mh setup!! ;); that'll be nice!
 
But the led panel is to supp. light like i said, and take up space cause i ran out of the reflective packing pads.
 
Ya im hoping everything goes smooth when i switch to 12/12. Im thinking like 3 more weeks or so. And ya, those panels may not do much by themselves, but for side lighting, especially if all the walls have one, they will for sure help out a little bit.
 
Ya... Those led panels are prety fuckin cool. When the door to my box is open though, the blue leds in the panel... Shine CLEAR accross my bedroom. So wether these little 15w panels will grow a plant or not, they are bright as hell, and as supp. lighting, mixed with like 4 or more 23w cfls, for one plant, they would do fucking AWSOME!! Get em!! Use em!! Along with enough cfls, leds, IMHO, are great ways to supp. some lighting. I think at least, because the one i have seems to make my plant lean towards the side the panel is on.

Ps. Let me know if you get the panels and if they do any better, cause this is the first time i have ever used one so i dont have a real idea of id they help or not.
 
I've heard of people using i think a 40watt and growing comparable to a 75watt hps and if she's leaning for it she must be liking it lol! Try a day with it on top and the cfls on the sides or something see how it goes might show better growth who knows till you try. wish I could get a deal like you did on one though lol
 
Ya i saw the light at the trift store ( dude buy storage lockers i guess) but it is permanently mounted on the back wall (unless i want to disassemble the whole box)! But it seems to be doing at least a little bit. My plant is no more than 2" away from the panel. I KNOW leds can hrow plants, its all about spectryl when it comes to those fu@&#%s. I have seen what the UFO leds do. So thats why i jumped on the $6 deal!! But hit up walmart, multiple if you can, and see what their cfl selection is like. Or home depot.
 
Looking really good man I've upgraded my case quite a bit in the past 24 hours i'll be adding and update in an hour or two when the lights pop on
