CFL DIY lighting hood... questions!

Hey everyone! I am working on my first grow... still building but loving every second of it. Here is what I am doing. I am using a section of ducting opened up to form a reflector hood for my lighting. Here is how it is looking:

I got her all wired up and she is working great. I wanted to go a step farther though as I have 2 extra PC fans. So I wired in an extra plug to the set up so I can eventually put the lighting and fans on a single timer. Here is a pic of the wiring:

And here is an idea of my fan placement:

So my question to you the experts is, is adding 2 extra pc fans to my hood a waist? In other words is the extra air pulled off my lights going to out weigh the reflective properties I will lose for those 4" holes? And if I do add these fans will I need to add flexible tubing outside the box or just pulling the air up and off the lights and then having the exhaust fans pull it out enough? To help you out I am using a real smal box I built that is 30"W x 25"D x 40"H, so this is more along the lines of a micro grow.

Let me know what you guys think of adding these fans, and the whole hood as a whole! I would love to hear what you guys think of my DYI hood I made.

I would have the fans blow across the bulbs side to side. That way you retain your reflectors effectiveness. Once you get the hot air out from under there it will rise on its own.

Then duct out of your grow space from the top, preferably through a carbon filter if smell is an issue.

Real nice reflector BTW :)
