I am a first time grower so I made the mistake of putting my little girl in a 10" round pot. SHe is heavily root bound and water will not absorb in the soil it all just passes through. She has been flowering for about 6 weeks and has big crystal filled buds on her but under a 30x glass the tricomes have no aber like color yet. I have one sample but drying now to test it but I was wondering what you guys would suggest.I dont want to transplant b/c I know it would be harsh on the plant. Do I water normally and hope for the best? Chop her down and know better for next time? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Pics of her are on my profile

first, cry. then hit yourself on the head.

then answer me this: can you tell from the plants demeanor whether she is super-pissed about being root-bound? is she wilty? has she stopped bud growth? if not, I would continue to water. if so, i would transplant her.

also, is this a sativa, indica, or hybrid? there's a big difference between whether you're 2 or 6 weeks away from harvest.

I would just water the heck out of it. 2or 3 times aday if ya have too. Alot of soil grows turn out to be hydro grows once the pot is filled with roots. Harvest if ready or give it some time.

why chop early if it's still alive? keep it going until it's finished, try soaking the pot in nutrients so the water comes up an inch or so below the top of the soil and let sit for ten minutes, like a flood and drain.

you're watering to fast. water more slowly, or clog the holes for a short period of time so the soil evenly soaks, then let the excess drain.

I don't get this AAAAAh transplant scare...Just let it dry out a bit..If in plastic pot just roll it in your hands and lit out plant...If solid pot run a knife carefully around the pot and lift...its easier to do a bigger plant then a small plant..if like you said it's root bound the root ball will lift out easy....I'm always changing pots..never had a hermi or a stress prob...just don't (if outside grow) do it on a hot day....It will love the new home and will reward you...If you do it right..it takes what 4 seconds..not like trying to scoop seedlings out of a cup... trichs cloudy to amber..... Luck with whatever you do....

That is absolutely correct. Many growers tend to confuse hydro and soil techniques. But in this case, it is appropriate.

Why thankyou! Johnny.

Others talked about flooding the plants and letting them soak in water and to water slower instead of it running down the edges of the pots. These were good points and tech as well.
