Carbon Scrubbing without cool tubes

Well, I just bought an inline carbon filter/fan combo and was wondering a few things.

First off, I don't have cool tubes and was wondering if ducting to cool the bulbs would still work without the tubes. I'm guessing it would be much easier to just use AC for cooling.

If that's the case then, I would be using my filter/fan combo for venting only. I was planning on pulling fresh air to the room from outside using a 6" ducting/fan combo to the room. From there, the filter/fan combo should be setup how? On the same run as the fresh air intake, or a separate run completely?? If a separate run completely, where would the fan be pulling from and how?

PICS OR DIAGRAMS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Intake low, out take high.
Intake and out take are separate..
Use an AC for cooling.

Thanks for the dank diagram! That's almost exactly the way I had it drawn out, only my intake was not so low. Guess I should have thought a little harder on that one. One more question though...where does the "Scrubbing" part come into play if it's not re-circulating back in?? Personally, I don't see any reason to have a circular "Scrubbing" run since my venting is going through a basement room, then outside.
