Hello everyone,
I recently tried my hand at making my own Carbon Filter to attach to a Hydrofarm 4inch rated for 165 cfm. I cut a piece of four inch PVC pipe down to a foot, and attached a cap on each end.
The caps are slotted, so it allows good airflow. Directly behind each cap is a circle of fish tank filter material, and the rest of the tube is filled with activated carbon. I then attached that to the intake of my fan, attempting to pull air through it to filter my room.
The problem(?) is, not much air is coming out of the other end of the fan. I also tried blowing through the filter, and had the same result - not very much air was flowing through the tube.
My question is, where did I go wrong? What can I do to modify this so I get more airflow? I assume more airflow would be better, and I wrong?
Thanks for any help yall can give
