carbon filter??

Is a carbon filter nessecarry to get marijauna to grow?? Or is it just to reduce odor? How bad would 2 or 3 plants smell and should I wait to get one until they actually start to smell? Also does a homemade CF work just as good?

Its just for the smell and helps airflow but it wont help your plants grow any better.
