Carbon Air Filter set up questions..

So I plan on doing a rather small grow.. just 6 plants with a drip system. . . 400 watt hps throughout the whole grow (florescent for the seedling stage)...

Now that you know that. I just wanted to know if someone could explain or show me a diagram of how the air filtration system works... The grow area is in a small NON sealed off area. About 4 ft wide, by 4 ft deep and 8 ft tall....

Anyone want to give me some input please??? Im going to get the fluorescent lights today to get ready for early seedling and sprouting stages.. i want to get the carbon filter ventilation set up asap.... All i need to know is how to set it up... im sure most of you who read this know how, so any help is appreciated. thanks.

Basically, you put a fan on top of a charcoal canister and it sends the smell outta the room. Try to vent as high as possible.

very good Link !!! Thank you ! . . . Thats all i needed and I got it now...

The only thing you need to keep in mind is: suck/blow works either way with the carbon filters, but suck is MUCH better.

Good deal... I will most definitely set it up to suck the air then... So just for kicks... this is how i should set up the filtration system...

start with carbon filter, connected to inline fan, then through my hps lamp, then out of the room? or should the air just go ahead and blow back into the grow room ?

I like to keep the inline fan outside the tent. Infact, I have mine up in the attic. Carbon filter -> Light Hood -> inline fan -> outside

It's important that you exhaust to fresh air (not another room in your house) unless you are supplying Co2.

No shit... I have to exhaust the filtered air to the outside??? Is that a necessity even though the air is filtered and clean.?

Absolutely... depending on how many plants you've got. More than 4 plants, yes. Plants use Co2 and unless you are supplying a fresh source of it, they will not thrive. The air will quickly become stuffy for them. Not for you, so you wouldn't notice it.

Exhausting your tent to fresh-air forces Co2 rich fresh-air to be sucked into your house. So if you've got more than a few plants, you've got to get Co2 from somewhere.

makes sense to me.... Im not sure how im going to be able to get the ducting outside yet but im sure ill figure it out... but I only plan to do about 6 medium sized plants ... nothing huge..
