Cant clone to save my life

OK everybody here is my issue.
I thought i was above this but i really cant get my cloning process down and its starting to get to me. I have plenty of pictures and will keep posting until the 14th day. It is day 8 now.
i Want 100% CLONING!!!!!!!!!! Anyways...
i have a cloning chamber to keep moisture in and i keep the temperature around 74degrees and the humidity 95% minimum. I originally thought i had too much light as to why my clones were browning and basically dieing before they could root but now i have no clue.
I attempt to pick the best clones off my mothers and are usually around 4-6" tall. So i cut it off closer to the bottom of the plants with at least 4-5nodes growth with scissors that i clean with isopropyl alcohol. i shave off all the growths up till the top set of leaves. I then let the cutting sit in water for a minute or so and make the final cut in water at 45 degree angle so no air gets into the stem. I then lather on the rooting gel and make a big enough hole in the medium so as to not scrape off any of the rooting gel. I pack the medium firmly around the cutting so it stands straight and i make sure that the stem touches medium below it and not the bottom of my container. I have a container that holds 32 cuttings and i used a mix of half perlite/vermiculite for 16, and the remaining 16 holders i use promix. I have pulled a couple of cuttings already because they went completely brown and died. I don't know why they do this and i have a productive grow setup that i depend on clones to keep me going. My cloning rate is Abysmal at probably like 5%, so im barely making enough clones for my next 2month flowering cycle. I have plenty of picture and will take plenty more upon request. Can someone Please help me with this dire issue as this is really starting to bother me. I was half tempted to post this in noobie central, and am thinking that i possibly should. Any Comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

one reason could be the strain, i had heard that some clone better and i found that to definitely be true. i had two varieties that wouldnt clone, and the other one clones great.

they look pretty dry - do you mist them? i use hydro so i have mine in rockwool which i keep slightly damp, i mist everyday and take off the top for a couple minutes a day and fan them. are you doing that? otherwise everything you are doing sounds correct.

i know that its normal that some of the leaves turn yellow, but yours are beyond that it seems. you said you reduced your light, to what? i know clones dont need a lot of light

i agree they look dry. When you have the lid on and they are under the light there should be plenty of moisture evaporating and clinging to the dome. I realize that you probably just put the dome on but still I always mist em when i check on them I give the top of the dome a good misting as well as the leaves themselves they do fine. I have pretty much got 100% clone rates by just using peat pellets and misting with a dome.

Have a go at trying to put ur next lot of clones in moist rockwool cubes or those little soil pellets that expand into a little mud sack when they are soaked. Also try shorter stems when you cut them, I only go to 3 nodes unless its a bit of a puny cutting, I have cloned twice now with 100% which i know is probably just luck but first time was 20 cuttings in rockwool cubes, then i mist with only water regularly, no nutes and if the cubes began to dry just misted them well, but not too wet cos if the soil or cube soaks ur cuttings stem it just takes off the rooting gel before it gets to do anything. My 2nd time was just a practise with just 10 scrawny little bottom stems i'd taken from my main plants, i didnt think they'd even do anything and i just put them in an ice cube tray i'd filled with damp cocos soil, then did the same as i'd done wit my first attempt. And suprisingly they all rooted too

That and a seed germanation tray with a dome....heating pad needed in the winter time.....roots 7-10 days

You only need like 20 watts for roots...more wattage makes the plant develope new top growth not root

homemade EZ Cloner...end of story. gets you 100% and its fairly simple to make. I have a 24 site one that I made for about $60 and never have to buy rockwool again! lol. you can watch the root development and once they get to about 4-6 inches you can plant them into soil. PM me for more details.

dude ive been where you are, the easiest thing to do is get a 2 gallon bucket with a lid. get some neoprene inserts air pump and a airstone couple of cfls and good to go. even the longest cloning strain i had was traiwreck and that was 15 days.

For starters it looks like you're overfertilizing your plant.

You should flush them asap.

All of the clones are showing signs of nitrogen toxicity.
If they were healthier it would increase your success rate.
If possible take clones that are healthier.

Second, when you do clone you need a humidity dome, your frying your clones!!
Alright I just reread your post you have one of those...

At any rate you don't need a ton of light, I use 2, 26 watt cfl's to root 15 or so cuttings.

Also, cut all of your fan leaves in half, this encourages root growth.


I use peat pellets for cloning and use a clear rubber maid tub that's 8 inches tall. I use powdered rooting hormone as well.

You want to make sure the soil your cloning in has been thoroughly watered.

If you do all of these things your success rater will dramatically increase, I have a 95% success rate.

this is damn good advice, i've had pretty much 100% success cloning this way, although i've only attempted 4 clones so far, but all have rooted in about 2 weeks.

i don't use a dome, i don't spray/mist the leaves, or anything else that over complicates this process. it's ridiculously easy if done this way.

literally all you need to know, simply place the clone in the bubble water (however you choose to securely place it in the water) and leave it be for about 2 weeks, maybe even sooner if the temp is warmer, and bam roots appear, and she is ready for whatever grow medium you use.

I've tried this and failed. Do you use cloning gel or anything? Do you keep track of room temp or Humidity?

So far I've had two failed cloning attempts. One with a dwc cloner then in a converted areo cloner I built. They all died. I didn"t use a dome for the dwc attempt b/c most people said it was not needed. I used clonex solution in the water but no gel. The only thing I can think of is there was not enough humdity and the room may have gotten a little too warm.

Also for the dwc do the roots go in the water or above the water?

Any additional help would be great.

i have 100% everytime now. use powder not gel. its sposed to stay on the stem better? so i herd.
also humidity dome. mist. wait and thats abt all i do...

also take from the lower branches look for nice strong stems and leaves.
