Cannabutter questions

So I've just recently started making edibles and so far I've made a batch of brownies (with cannaoil) and a batch of cookies (with butter). For the brownies I cooked the amount of oil the brownies called for with 3.5grams of ground nugs(og kush). I only cooked it for an hour even tho I had read 30 min. Everyone that ate them including myself took about 6+ hours to fully kick in. The cookies I made with cannabutter I made 1/2lb of butter with 7grams of train wreck nugs and 2.5 grams of og kush. I only cpoked the butter for an hour. The cookies took 8 hours to kick in but put me in a coma for like 6 hours lol. Anyone know why it took so long to kick in for everyone that ate them? But here is what I'm wanting to do next time. Take 7-14 grams of nugs not sure what kind yet, and make dry ice hash. Ive done this method before and u get so much hash, I want to put the hash in but I also want to put the nugs in. So here's my question after I make the dry ice hash will there still be thc in the nugs to extract in the butter or not. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for any help

never had one take any longer then 1 hour or so to work.. 3.5g of bud is half the amount required for most people which is .25g of decarbed bud.

FWIW... make the oil for the recipe you are using... say the brownies yield 30 cookies you need .25 per brownie. so that is a total of 7.5g bud... if you use more then the amount of butter for example you used 8 oz butter.. recipe prob calls for 1/3 cup or so you should have either used 15g bud with 1/4th lb butter or 4 oz butter for 7.5g bud..


using hash you will need .5g-.7g per edible so 3.5gof keif or hash

not if the hash was made correctly... hash (kief) is the purest form of thc... your solvents may have made the hash taste bad.. esp ISO hash.. when not purged correctly it will taste like crap and prob make ya a tad sick...

dry ice hash-cold water hash = no solvents

I have only made cold water hash and our traditional butter making methods far exceed any texture flavor and overall appearance we ever produced with a concentrate. fat when heated to correct temp will extract more thc then and cold hash process or keif box ever could. the molecules bond...its science as my daughter would say lol check out ganjagoodiesbakery.com we are pretty legit

I want to make brownies but can't figure out how much butter I'm supposed to use. Do I just use as much as the recepie asks for or do I plop a whole stick of canibutter in that sucka? I would like to be comatoasted for hours too, so wanna make these tasty treats just right :)!

Yes, just use what the recipe calls for. Maybe 15% more if it calls for oil instead of butter.

I love this warning from the Canna Butter for Dummies thread:
There was one time I put in 4 ounces to 4 sticks of butter; after was strained returned it to the crock pot tossed in another half stick butter and ADDED in 11 grams of bubble hash, waited 5 hours then unlike the first time, no straining, put in the freezer until solid and when removed from the water the hash stuck to the bottom of the butter. 3/6 people that tried that butter will never eat cannafood again. Long time medical patients too =/. Put it all on the double boiler mixed it up with a couple bars of hersheys chocolate and handed him a spoonful, he ate half of that spoonful.....That was the first time I had to sit and pray with a grown man and his wife, for 4 hours, I felt very very bad...Be careful....it can be traumatizing. - Friendly J

Fukn priceless lol! Ty bro for the info. Just open the freezer and rescued my slab of butter lmfao. I've never done this before but the shit looks awesome. Well a perfect oval slab of butter with a green tint to it. Is there a way to know if you messed up besides just eating whatever you bake? I'm like a little kid right now! Just dying for morning to come to become Bety Crocker over here Lol. Thmx again!

HeHe, I'm ready to do some baking someday myself.
Bake and try a small amount. Wait at least an hour and try a little more.
Like a half brownie or cookie at a time.
Get the dose right then have some fun.

Start on an empty stomach (it can have a very small amt. of food ), and eat 1/2 of a small brownie after you finish baking them in the morning. Wait 45 minutes, eat the other 1/2. Unless I was in a big hurry or had not felt anything for 2 hrs., I would wait for about 2-3 hours after lunch and eat one whole medium brownie, wait 1 hour to 1 1/2 hr (because my stomach is not completely empty at this point), repeat as necessary. If you start in the morning, by the evening you should have it about dialed-in.
