Hi Rene, Thank you for that nice compliment. I appreciate the feedback. Im hoping to have a small art show at the local Cancer Center in the spring with drawings like this that incorporte the cancer ribbon.
I was hoping to reach out on this site to the cancer patients that use medicinal Marijuana.
I would love to sell my art. I create art for a variety of reasons. I like to explore different subjects that reach out to different groups of people and sometimes not.
Presently I have the cancer ribbon art and the fun cartoony pot leaf art as main subjects of exploration. I started another Pepe le pew drawing, the stoned loveable skunk... with the sweet smell..LOL
I was thinking about you when I made that drawing that is my avatar now....ganja girl... Ill make you something nice. Peace....

Rene, Sorry to hear you lost your papa to cancer. I hope your friend pulls through. I have a couple drawings in the works that might present a potential cool tattoo. I like to incorportate celtic knotwork ideas into my work and the drawing that I am thinking about has cancer ribbons in a celtic pattern. I will upload the "in progress"' drawing for you to critique... from there maybe we can work together to find a design that spiritually works for you.

HI,
I finally finished the drawing from my previous post. I really tried to plan this particular drawing. I started in pencil only, moved into some color and then focused on only pencil for the corners finishing them up with highlighted color. :leaf::-P

Thank you very much... I'm not sure about how people are truely being affected by this type of art.(besides Renes comment) I was hoping that this art would bring some type of togetherness or feeling that others care, that there is hope....a lot of spitual help out there for people who have cancer or are deeply affected by it through someone else. I was hoping to get more of a response from viewers but I guess it isnt that poweful... or I somehow I wasnt able to provoke the viewer enough to care...

don't devalue yourself like that amber... your art is inspiring and I can tell you that for a fact - it inspires me every time I come here and look at it (which don't ya know is the only reason I come into the inspired art forum! :-P). I see your selflessness and strive to emulate it

you are awesome.

Your too kind Gafoogle... seriously I think there might be more I can add to the Cancer art to connect people...its ok ...thats how you grow.
Its a really intense subject matter...not one to be taken lightly... so if I can find the right spiritual connection for myself and for others then the work will really be powerful. Its a lot different than my other art work. My other drawings just fly right out of me. I want to really think about how to appoach this subject matter. do you have any suggestions? You know how much I respect your art and opinion. Again, Thank you for the very kind words your a real sweetheart!!!

Recently I went through a "funk" of sorts and decided to stop making art, music etc. due to the false pretentiousness of the "art scene". I was so frustrated that people would come to my art shows just to drink free beer and purchase nothing. Why should I keep painting? I'm not making a living at it?.......I then watched a film called "beautiful losers". (like last week). One of the artists stated, "If I like my work, and my friends enjoy seeing it; I'm content and can create forever". Who's been painting their ass off this last week again? ME. Then I found RIU and got one reply that someone enjoyed my art. SOOOOOOO, i guess what I'm trying to say is that you guys are awesome, and I enjoy your art. I am slightly less jaded because of this forum. Thank you.

Well I can tell you I enjoy looking at your Art and it serves as an inspiration as I go through something I'm not sure how to get through.....My 17 year old daughter is in the final stages of NETS Cancer. She will pass away soon her organs are shutting down slowly we are just trying to get her well enough to go home to die. She has had 5 rounds of Chemo and endured some 300 pokes as Cancer patients call needles, 2 biopsies, dozens of different scans and 6 month's in and out of 3 different hospitals. She is a huge fan of art and has been since she could hold a crayon. She has actually spent much of her time in the hospital making bead necklaces for family and other patients. So keep it up and I am repping you for your effort its the least I could do....thank You Canuckgrow

Thanks bushybush, I think your art is really awesome. I know exactly what you are talkin about with reguards to the art scene. It completely turns me off and repulses me. You gotta just make art for your spirit and soul.. and maybe others will dig it, if they do its cool and inspirational, if not fuck it you still gotta do it . I know you have a lot of people that dig your art cause its super hip and really fun, who the hell wouldnt like it?just losers that cant seem to open there eyes or heart, i guess. Thanks for stoppin by..

HEY HEY HEY.. hope everyone is feeling alright.
Thanks for posting your picture canuckgrow. I love it. I have the tinker bell stickers all over my Phototron. hahah
I cant wait to get Bekkas book.

I mentioned previously in this thread that i have been trying to find a deeper connection with my cancer awareness art to connect to more people and i think ive finally found a path. :-P

Here is my latest painting. This painting was inspired by so many people. It was inspired by all women batteling cancer and medicating with Marijuana. May the sweet herb heal your pain and suffering.
It was also inspired by the Austrailian Aborigonal Tribe. Why they decided at this point to spiritually helped my do this piece im not sure but im glad that they did. I am very inspired by their way of life and their art.

I try to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness because it is a subject near and dear to me personally. I love your creativity and how you share your gift of art with others. My avatar is a symbol for Breast Cancer. Breast cancer and breast abnormities can affect men as well as women
