Can You Tell Me The Difference Between These Bulbs??(hps and mh) sept3/2012

hello i had two light bulbs bestowed upon me, what i know is, ones a hps and ones a mh (both 400 watt). if you could tell me which ones which.... pic#1 and pic #2 (hps / hm) would be much obliged.

1=hps 2=mh

First one is HPS(high pressure sodium) second is MH(metal halide)

MH are best for veg, HPS are best for flowering.

MH is usually 5100 kelvin in color temperature
HPS is usually 2100k

i usually forget which 1 is which.so i just go by color blue color = veg orange-ish color = flower.

How the hell can you forget? They look completely different.

i got very bad memory when i am stoned. which is 99% of the time.

HSP for flowering. The HPS bulb looks like the rolling pin granny used to roll out the FLOUR
when she made pies. Get it?

The important question is.......
Do you have the relevant ballasts for them.

HPS always have those cylindrical translucent ceramic inner capsules. MH have the transparent blown quartz capsules. cn

Is that the same with the conversion bulbs?
