can you over-flower a mj plants ?

heyy all., i was js wondering this because my plants been flowering for about 10 weeks, but the yeild is not really looking that good. n in my memories, i spotted brown hairs on liek the 4th week after i switched tha lights to 12/12..im currently using 9 100w output cfls(warm whites n daylights) ..i cant upload anhy pics till tamarow, but is "over flowering" even capable ?., or do they js keep growing ?..any advice/help is needed...:cry::-| +:joint::joint:=:shock:

thats correct. you need a scope to check your trich development and you want to harvest when the majority are a nice milky color. once they start to amber and go beyond that you get to a point of diminishing returns in that the potency of the thc starts to diminish.

you can harvest your plant when the trichomes ripen from "clear" to a milky white/amber color. you can use a 30x magnifying glass or jewelers loupe to check.

100w's worth of CFL's isn't gonna give you dense nugs, so really that is probably the issue...get a HPS or CMH or even a 60+W LED if you want better results. CFL's are ok for vegging but awful for flowering...they don't have enough of a red spectrum.

Check the trichs though, if they are clear it has time to go...if cloudy then it's almost ready...look for amber trichs, you can cut em when cloudy but most wait til there is like 30% amber at least...so it's up to you but you need to check or you'll have couchlock bud, not to mention I think the THC degrades over time....
