Depends on where you go but no matter where you go you will have to be over the 20 days since submission to the state.

Not true, ozzrokk. Some places will take you the day you send out your application or the day you saw the doctor if you have proof of going to the doctor (doctor's receipt) or proof of mailing the applicatioin, even without the 20-day waiting period.

Some places will only take the card, like Compassionate Apothecary in Mt. Pleasant.

Assuming valid medical marijuana needs, what requirements must be met for a new Michigan residence to obtain a MM card? That is, could a person simply move to the state, fill out the necessary application paperwork, and open a PO box (address to be used on paperwork, and address to receive card) on the same day to become a new MM patient in the new state? Or are there some conditions that need to be met (like being a residence for x number of days?)

you need to be a resident of that state which means you will need to have a drivers license/state ID which means you need to have proof of residency which means you have to be registered to vote or paid a utillity bill or rent/mortage - but than not everyone has that even in the state they are a resident so not sure how they handle that - you would just likely have to tell the secratary of state you have been here for 30 or 90 days (call and ask before you go how many days is minimum)- to remain a resident you must reside in a state for at least several days of every 30.

Oh and NO P.O Box does not count and niether does any form of temporary residence - it must be a residence which is privately owned. I know this because I work with Medicaid insurance and if you are homeless or living in a group home or something you count as a resident of your last independant adress and not any temporary address like a P.O. Box or something.

There is no reason for you to have a medical marijuana card if you do not live here anyway, it is only valid in RI and Montana if you did and you would have to speed 1 week out of every 4 here to remain a resident.

If you do plan on staying basically all you need to go to secratary of state and get a state ID or drivers license and when you do that you might aswell register to vote and that will make you an official resident.

Yea and I wish they would get me my card already cause i want to check C A in Mt Pleasant but yea need the card and I understand their stance just sucks that the damn state is soooooo sloooowwwwwww
