can you grow good plants/buds with T5s?

I looking to start a indoor grow soon. I am looking into lights and tents to buy. I seen T5s and wanted to know if you can get good plants/buds from T5s? I seen a 48x24x60 tent and was thinking of using a 4ft x 8bulb T5. Any comments about this type of grow?

Not enough power for "good buds". Plenty enough power for most vegging scenarios. Look into HPS for your Flower Stage.

so am I better off buying a 32x32x60 tent with a 400 watt hps/mh light?

May as well go for the best. The MH will be too much for your girls until they get into bigger pots though. T5 is great for vegging small plants.

I see a 32x32x60 tent. I also see a 32x32x84 tent. Should I get the taller tent?

T5's have worked great for me through veg and flower. They don't get nearly as hot so ventilation and temperature fluctuations arent as big of a problem. And if this is your first grow, id recommend starting out with the T5's cuz they are cheaper. Once you go through a cycle, upgrade your equipment if you feel like its necessary. But dont buy super expensive equip just to quit halfway. grow as you grow.

so a 4ft x 8bulb T5 would work good in a 48x24x60 tent. I wanna scrog 2 plants.

yes sounds great. I have seen a video on youtube and the guy had great looking plants/buds with a T5. He was growing 2 plants in a scrog grow.
T5 SCROG at day 42 T5 scrog at day 55. It's flush time

I use t5s with CFls and LEDs and get huge nugs. T5s are great for side lighting or veg.

well I am going to buy all my items soon. So I wanna get the best tent/light that I can for a 2 plant scrog. I want just a simple small grow. I was thinking a 48x24x60 tent with a 4ft x 8bulb T5 light would cover the whole canopy over a 2 plant scrog. I was thinking of using a 4inch inline fan with filter.

I own several T5 units: Hydrofarm, sunlight supply, and some off brand:
I've grown NICE plants under them, I mean really nice; big as fan leaves, et...
But..
you have to take into account on going cost, and for HID its $60 for a Ushio HPS bulb
7-12 bucks per for T5 bulbs ...and yeah, you should change them also every 12-18Mo's

just something to think about

when using the T5s how did the buds turn out? I dont smoke at all. This is more of a hobby for me.

Is money an issue? If your doing a small 2 plant SCROG you could look to LED as well (less heat). I have a small closet setup with a 3x5 tent and do 2 plants works out pretty well. But again if it is a first grow you may want to start off with less money upfront figure out if this hobby is going to stick then upgrade down the line. T5 still put off heat, I would go with taller tent will help with that.

I have a lighthouse hydro tent just like that one and I needed 2 panel LEDs to cover the whole area and a 4 foot T5 WILL NOT FIT IN THERE. That tent isn't 4 foot long its almost 4 foot and a 4 foot t5 is slightly larger than 4 foot.

so would it be better to get that tent but use a 250watt or 400watt hps? Or its easier to ask this. If I wanna scrog 2 plants in a tent with a 250watt or 400watt hps/mh light. What size tent do I need?

400w HPS with inline fan + charcoal filter and 8 foot of ducting. Get a digital dimmable ballast with both MH AND HPS bulbs, use MH for veg, HPS for flower.
