can you control male or female?

a buddy of mine just told me you can help create more females by interrupting the light cycle during the dark period with an hour of light when the plant is young. is this true?

i know you can use a chemical to make only females (polyploid) but your first crop is unsmokable but your next will be all females i am aware of this method but is there any other way

I wonder if there is a hormone like estrogen?

Actually interrupting the light cycle will only give you hermi plants, it can destroy a good crop of females. The chemical you are referring to to create polyploid plants is colchicine. This highly toxic substance was originally used to create more potent forms of marijuana, however it never did. Colchicine is extremely toxic and there is no cure for exposure, just organ damage and often death if the exposure was large enough. Also, colchicine will not influence gender, just make your plants sterile and un-smokable.
