If you do it early enough around the 3rd or 4th node you can get away with it, if you do it too late you can stunt the stretch you would get in flower. Also I have had bad experience with LSTing the main stalk 12/12 from seed. The shoots are easily LST'ed but LST'ing the main stalk just stops them dead in their tracks.

You can go straight into 12/12 but i wouldn't advise you fim when you fim a plant in veg it takes about a week for it to recover you do it in flower about the same but this is with about 4 weeks veg. you do that in flower with a seedling and it will shock the shit out of it, your talking stunt growth and a possible hermie problem to say the least

Wow I stand corrected guess it does work
No worries man, I thought the same thing I've been tinkering with this 12/12 from seed thing for a couple months now and have been surprised quite a few times.

A nice mix of sativa in the genetics helps a lot you get a nice amount of stretch once they start to flower and it makes up for some of the lost veg time. I tried to LST a heavy indica, what a mistake, 8 inch plant with no stretch ended up chopping it down. would have been a 8 inch shrub of bud lol.

How long after the head pops above ground do you leave it before you flower it???

They are 12/12 from seed literally, they start in 12/12 Under my 400watt hps light in solo cups and get transplanted to 2 galons right as I start to see the beginning of a preflower, I use a scope and check them every couple days when I feel they should be showing. If I think they are male I keep them in the solo cup until I confirm it's female. Usually start to see a preflower forming around 3-4 weeks, I've topped them at this point once they are confirmed female and it's seemed to work out so far. Still testing on more strains as time goes on.

That big one is Bodhi's Synergy it's got quite a bit of sativa in it. This one is Lee Roy from Rare Dankness I'll take another shot of her tonight she's just starting to frost up nice. She's got purple hues at the nodes.
