Can the carbon filter/extractor filter smell from outside of the tent?

Let's say it's harvest time but only for some of the plants, so I take the plants that are not ready yet and put them outside the tent in a closet with light while I put the tent with the opening for air extraction (where clean air enters the tent) next to the closet's door and inside the tent I keep the drying buds with the filter/extractor on. (just one extractor/carbon filter for the tent which is 2.5 x 2.5)

Will the smell from the plants in the closet be sucked by the filter in the tent and be cleaned of smells?

Maybe, but doubtful imo. Place your drying plants as close to your tent intake as possible & leave your fan/filter on 24/7 if you don't already. Maybe get some auto-spray air fresheners for outside the closet. I just now bought a smaller tent & fan/filter to use for drying. I know not everyone can do that, but I now have an unexpected house guest & it's well worth the small expense for me to remain undiscovered.
Chopping & drying really put out the odor, it's easy to under-estimate just how odoriferous it can be. All you can do is try it, ideally you could have a trusted, fresh nose double check it for you. Just be ready with a plan B in case your extractor isn't up to the task.
Good luck! Harvest is fun & nerve-wracking all at the same time, unless you're legal. Then it's just plain old-fashioned work.

And between flourishing plants and drying buds which is smellier? Just to see which one I rather keep inside the tent: the buds or the plants that are not ready to harvest yet.

Unlikely, I have a filter in the room but outside I use ONA gel and always have a bucket going when I'm drying/trimming or doing anything that generates smell outside my flower room, works well.

If it is an enclosed room and you are exhausting into it you will get a slightly carbony smelling room. If you run the exhaust out of he room properly you wont smell anything. Exhausting into the room will leave small remanats of odor recirculating through your room and eventuallY into other areas.

Chopping and drying. It's strong smelling& there's a lot of 'volume' if you will. A fart can be strong but it will dissipate (dutch oven excluded) because there's not much of it. Weed just keeps going and going until you get it jarred up. Handling it just makes it smell that much more.
Protip: Before you leave the house, take a shower & change clothes.
