I am planning on growing outdoors this coming grow season in Connecticut. Im going to planting my plants in a clearing in the woods, but i do not want to have to buy soil to use because it would be very rough carrying 40lb bags of soil for about a mile to my grow spot, so i was going to use the ground soil at my location. Now for my questions,
Should i test the ph in the soil i am planting in?
and also, should i add perlite to the soil to increase drainage?

yea i live up in stafford springs, and yes im planning on growing outdoor and this coming grow season is going to be my second attempt at growing the first time (this year) i used midgrade bagseeds and i think the seeds had bad genetics cause my soil was good i was using good nutes, and the plants we're tall skinny and stretching even though they were getting 8 hours of direct sunlight a day i got maybe an eigth for a yield haha but now im going to marijuana-seeds.nl and ordering some durban poison seeds but any help you could give me i would appreciate it bro

word man, well i start my babies indoors under flouros for a week or so and then put them in a window in my house which gets mad daylight since it was still pretty chilly during the spring. If you don't want to lug up any soil which i wouldn't either i'd give you a couple things to buy to mix in with where your plot is, Bone meal, blood meal, dolomite lime for ph buffering, and plenty of perlite, the soil shall be light and fluffy, i through in two bags of hoffman cow manure and peat moss, pretty easy bags to handle, small enough to fit in a bag, for nutes i use superthrive, schultz fertilizer for vegging, and jacks classic for flowering, all depends on what you can get from your local garden center

add some worm castings and livong worms to your forest soil
start the plants in top quality soil in starter cups with holes in the bottom for the first two weeks and then transplant o your final location

well i was actually thinking about just adding perlite to the soil to increase drainage and airation, i don't think i need all of that stuff cause im growing in a spot thats very desolate in the woods so theres a about a foot of topsoil that i think would work great with just a little drainage help from perlite or sand

depending on if you get alot of rain, drainage is definatley a must, but all the little things you put into it will make alot more of a difference in your plant, but that is totally up to you,
