Can I use HPS only for the whole cycle grow....

What a great site to get answers for, thanks to one and all who give the time and their experience to all us first time growers.

Just put up a 2x4x7 tent and now is the light situation. Been reading that HPS/MH is the way to go. Also you can use HPS through the whole cycle. TRUE?? Be a little less on the pocket book, but results? Been thinking about buying the Illuma Lights Open Reflector 400 watts HPS/MH system. Not air-cooled, will that be a problem? As one can see I might and will have furture questions, so can one please direct me to where I might be able to look up questions for a newbie on this site. Thanks to all the great people out there who really care about this process. Thanks............

Yes, u can u can use hps from start to finish, the soil grow in my sig is a demonstration of what u get.

+1 to HPS for veg.

Be sure to get a HPS bulb with enhanced blue output, even if it means you can only get a cheap ballast. Since you're on a budget, know this: the right bulb is the single most important investment you can make in your grow, except maybe seeds. It's more important then choice of nutes.

Hell yea you can! You can veg with t 5 and get great results so you can damn sure go with hps all the way.

Oh yea...

I use hps all the way..

I would reccomend that you get the son agro 430hps bulb to use with your 400 watt ballast.

It has the added extra blue that regular 400 watt bulbs do not have.

Been using one in my veg room, and It really does outperform a stock bulb.:-P
