i have 2 100 watt security hps that i turned into remote ballast and bulb. i was looking into how ppl just screw the bulb and it works.. then i read that you have to just disable the igniter (but that included a capacitor, and my 100w dont have a capacitor) and i tired that nothing happend at all.. then so i think i need a capacitor for it. but if i have to buy somthing extra i was looking for a 100w mh convertion bulb then i would save myself a possible fire hazard and go the safe way,...but if i have to get a capacitor then would this be the one i would want

no... even if you manage to get the right capacitor your lamp life will be drastically reduced. its important also to have the proper size lamp for your balllast... to much off a difference between the two in wattage rating leads to major heat issues with the ballast and lamp, and that in itself will add to the shortening of the systems life. your best bet is getting a mh ballast, but if cash is an issue then go with the conversion bulb. id hate to see you get stuck with a bad ballast/lamp mid season. that just sucks....
