Can I transplant clones into a 5 gal pot?

How’s it going guys! I got some clones today and ready to transplant them, I have 5 gal pots ready but I was reading and some people say go smaller because it’s hard to water the soil and it could rott from soil retaining so much water? Wanted to get your guy’s thoughts. Should I put them in a 5gal?

sure u can, but as you already stated its better to step up in transplanting...

it takes longer for them to catch if you put them in the 5 gals from solo cup. but it will still work
