Can i top plant if nodes are alternating?

OG bubbba plant about 3 1/2 tall bushy wondering if I can still top even if the nodes are alternating, will it prevent from growing taller?

If you top those branches will not grow taller but the side shoots and branches will go up. good luck dirrtyd
