Can I top/FIM these plants yet?

This is my first grow back after a few years off. I used LST extensively in the past (LSD too but that's another story...), but never topped before.

I've got a few AK48 and Northern Lights plants going. For fun, I planted some schwag brickweed seeds while I waited for my "real" seeds to arrive and sprout. These schwag plants are really taking off now and I'm thinking about topping them to keep them short. The bagseeds are about 10 days ahead of the NL/AK plants. I could probably just LST these plants which I plan to do as well, but I'd like to try my hand at topping/FIM just as a learning experience.

I'd say wait like a week, I didn't top mine till they were a couple inches higher than yours. My opinion isn't really relevant because I'm not a veteran grower(sorry D=) but if I were you I'd wait. and lols <3lsd.

Here is a link to a great thread from a veteran grower here at RIU...Uncle Ben knows his stuff, so read at least the first few pages and you'll learn what you need to know. I've done his topping for 4 colas on my first grow, and things went perfectly. Good luck!

Went ahead and FIM'd them anyway. Looks like the plant shown in Uncle Ben's link was smaller than mine when done so it should be okay I guess. If not, it's just schwag bagseed anyway. Will update in a few days.

You should be fine.... I topped mine when it was around your height and 2 months later its standing at 5ft and looking beautiful!! I also just realised she's a girl today so I'm SUPER stoked!

I had a friend of mine top and fim my plants and they were alot smaller then ur's. All will be good..
