Bit too much on the nitrogen started flushing over a week ago and some leaves are already starting to lighten.....

That said its going to take at least a other few weeks of that and I reckon buds are ready

Lower buds still have some white pistils but Trichomes are milky / half clear

Cola Trichomes are milky amber

I've started saying this to all who have this question.

Go ahead - take a good bud and cure it out as best you can with a single bud.

Give it a smoke report - take notes.
Follow direction with the rest
Note the difference.

I'll bet you ask "can I harvest" 2 weeks later next run. :bigjoint:

If you don't have patience then growing isn't for you. If I believed the breeders flowering times then mine are ready. But the evidence of my eyes says that they are not. I have put time, effort and money into growing the best weed I possibly can and I guess you have too. Do you want to throw all that away and have some mediocre weed? I know I don't, so I wait.

How long have you got left? Who knows. I'd have another look in about a week, then go from there.

Oh and flushing is for toilets.

Some people cut top, more developed buds and leave lower buds to mature.
I was thinking of doing this but then I read more about 24-72 hour dark cycle before harvest im intrigued by the idea of more resin production right at the end . I'm tempted to chop the cola but suppose I may hold out for the lower buds next time round I'm going to use FIM and LST and defoliate early on hopefully get some even growth throughout

That 72 hour dark period thing is complete bro-science just like flushing.

Be careful defoliating, can stunt growth real bad. Fim will stimulate growth even if tearing ends off of fans. Lst is best all around as all you do is bend, so no shock at all imo only! Ive learned that grow conditions determin when to harvest, first sign of rot time to chop. Always works for me. But l live in damp location. Flushing game birds is for dogs.

I wouldn't cut a top.
I still take a couple of early mids - My Wife & I like the speedy, short lived buzz.

I say take one because I've found that most newer growers - myself included - ask that question at the same point that you're at; I didn't want to hear "wait 3-4 weeks" either --- and I took (take) early buds.

But I don't take them NEARLY as early as I used to - not like those pics in your posts. That's WAY too early.

**Young trimmer asking too many questions from a farmer**
"Why are we putting your plants in the barn for 72 hours before chopping?"

Farmer thinks - because I'm going to the lake this weekend for some peace and quiet - and you're not going, kid.
Farmer says - "Increases trichome production - seriously. Now go back and check that we didn't leave anything while I go......"

Right on the button!

Idk if its true, but check this out...

"The Stichting Institute of Medical marijuana (SIMM), the first company to sell marijuana through the pharmacies of Holland, has been investigating the medical possibilities of cannabis, together with TNO laboratories and the University of Leiden.

One of their discoveries has been that to keep the ripe plants in the dark before harvesting could increase their potency.SIMM’s growers separated a crop of mature plants, harvested half of them and kept the other half in absolute darkness for 72 hours before cutting and drying. Analysis of the resulting dried buds showed that some varieties had seen an increase of THC of up to 30%, while CBD and CBN remained the same."
