Anyone know exactly what m3 ph hour this filter is ?

Until recently i didnt realise how important the m3 rating thing of filters was. I just bought this a while ago for a replacement of my budget one i got with my kit... can_1500_100.jpg.... but now that im in late flowering im having smell issues and iv just found out that i *think* its only rated for airflows up to 75m3/h. Which seems crazy. Is it designed to work with pc fan or some shit.

I cant find anything on the CAN website about a 1500. The only thing iv got to go by is a few diff places selling them. But one place says 75m3 ph http://www.fantronix.com/acatalog/Can_Filter_-_Hydroponics_Carbon_Filter_100mm_4__Dia.html
And i seen another on sale on ebay which i cant find now, but im sure it says it was 156m3.

Eitherway these are no good for a 4 inch hvk fan rated at 175m3/ph no ?
Should i buy a rhino pro 100mm that has an airflow capacity of 350mtrs cubed per/hr to go with my 175m3 fan and i shouldnt have any smell issues, correct ?

Thanks.:peace:

Just found this quote from antoher thread ''Canfilters' do some of the smallest prefab filters around, by smallest I mean handling the lowest cfm, they state that they can be used with PC fans, have a look on their website there's some handy info''

So i guess it could be 75m3 after all. Had a look on thier website, cant find in 'handy info' on these small filters. It all just info on the large filters.

I paid £43 for this piece of shit when with an extra £7 i could have got a 4'' rhino pro @ 350m3. GGrrr.

take it back mate your local hydro shop they should swap it if they sold it to you mate, when i went to mine i spoke to them on their returns policy and they have assured me that if i have any probs with any of the products they sold me they would swap it instantly, this is a must for a hydro shop otherwise we'd all buy our stuff online their returns policy is the only reason for shopping with them.

Cheers man. But iv been using it for nearly 3 weeks now. I doubt he would take it back or even if he did offer a replacement of some sort i dont think he does Rhinos. And im def 100% goin for a rhino, just so i can rant n rave about how good they are {hopefully}.. like everyone else seems to do lol.

Still think it may be worth a try even though iv been using it ?

Looking around several websites, alot of places that are selling filters arent listing the m3 ph which i find quite shocking as now that iv learned the hard way, its an important factor to take into consideration when buying and spending your hard earned cash.

yeah definately mate just tell them it's not doing the job as advertised and if they give you the look just tell them the only reason you buy from them is that you can return any probs, if they don't go for it tell them to fuck off and you'll go to another hydro shop in future they know what were buying these things for if it's not working it's a security risk mate, if your in the uk there's a few about the place just go in and talk to them first.

that's the right way to do it mate don't take any shit off them as far as your concerned you got a faulty product and you want your money back or you want an upgrade any thing less is un acceptable as chances are it could get you locked up and have your stuff taken away losing confidence in it is more than acceptable for a refund imo mate

He got told where to go in the end.

I said how i asked him back when i was buying if this would be suitable with my fan and i was told it was, and now iv just figured out that it is no where near compatible with my fan. He just said he must have misunderstood me and asked if ive used it. I said yeah, about 2 weeks now.. he then quoted some privacy policy thing he obviously had in front of him.

....'Is that a no then ?'
'im afraid so mate'
'bollocks, il be goin elsewhere in future'

I've found those can filters to be a bit expensive. What I do was took a 12" intake filter (for an Abrams tank) added a flange, capped off one end, and filled it with activated carbon. I made it for at least $100 cheaper than store cost and of better materials.

yeah fuck him mate you don't want to be buying from somewhere that's gonna screw you on a smaller item and put you at risk i'd find another shop close and go see them, arseholes like that you can do without, you in the uk? if so we have a couple of good 1's, my local shop is 12miles away but there good as gold in there it's the only reason they get my money

If you're in the UK or AU shouldn't you be calculating distance in kilometers? ;)

But I do agree, sounds like someone that doesn't want to keep your business. My local hydro store takes back most anything but nutes, you'll face a restocking fee if it' functional but at least your not stuck with something you don't need or want.

no still miles mate kilometers are european i think but i don't know, at my local hydro shop there's no charges involved and they will replace anything that they sell nutes included if they're bad, i'm not sure if it's the same for all the hydro shops here in the uk, i have a guarantee from mine they will replace any item there and then if it's faulty and they will send it off to the manufacturer and take responsibilty for it, i spoke to another shop slightly closer and there policy wasn't as good they wanted the item returned to them and then to send it off and then if the manufacturer claims responsibilty they would then swap the item in question this was only with electricals lights fans etc imo the things you can't wait on
