Well im going starting my new grow in my closet soon i have about depth 21" & width 24" and a height of 62".....I'm going to purchase a 200w or 400w HPS i really want to go with the 400w as I had great results from one of those on my last grow but am afraid of too much heat in a small space...I have an external fan which will be going on to a 150mm carbon filter...The external fan will be mounted outside the closet in a cardboard box filled with expanding foam and accustic ducting...The output from the fan will lead to another cardboard box filled with poly foam and egg boxes to try and elimate the whoosing noise....Im going to line the grow boz with mylar to try and insulate and soundproof....My girlfriends mum spends alot of time in the house during the day minding the small lady in the house while we are at work which is the reason I can lock my door but just want to elimate sound and smell....Any advice and tips will be seriously appricated at this point as i will be building this soon...I going to go for the auto iranian but I am still undecided...Anyone know of a good strain that has low odour but still packs the punch....Need to get everything up and running soon if i want to harvest in time for Xmas

with a area that small i would use 2 small fans one intake one exhaust,if you don't exhaust it will pull air from every crack not airtight and you shouldn't pack foam around fans as they get hot just box them out with wood and some sound board and caulk all seems, for smell you wont need something until it starts flowering, possibility a home made carbon filter or store bought i would also box out and drill holes in so it can still breath also mount a small fan inside box so air dosent become stagnant that's a small space airflow is important

Not gna be very easy to pull this off.

Make sure when u mount the fan to use some kind of rubber pads inbetween all hard surfaces since what makes most of noticeble noise is the vibrations and not the actual air blowing.

Ur also gna need to make sure everything is air tight in ur grow space and room. Once they start flowering the smell will be very strong and will easily leak ouut from ur grow space and then out ur bedroom door into gfs moms nose. Where are you exhausting the air? If possible do it outside and not back into ur bedroom.

iranian autoflower is meant to be more of an outdoor strain, youd probably have better results with another indica (endless sky is iranian indica too i think, and an awesome choice).. I tried a closet grow once with a 400w, temps were way too high, 250w would probably be enough for your space.

I run a 400w in my 4x2 closet with only a 180cfm exhaust fan and 8 inch booster for intake and the hottest it gets during the day is 83 (with AC off) and im kkeeping the llighht only 9 inches from canopy.. I live in so cal too so itts hot ass hell right now during the summer. so a 400w can be used in a small space but if your trying to be stealthy id recommend either a 150 or 250 so that ur exhause fan wont have to be very loud. If you run a 4in exhaust fan with a adj controller at half speed, its almost silent.

Hi dude, running your cab with a 400 will be a mission... not impossible, but a mission...more so if you want it 100% stealth! ... A 250 and air-cooled reflector will be alot easier.. the main difference between running the 250 and the 400 will be the size/power of your exhaust/in-line fan! and the sound of the air-movement.. Dispite a few bad reviews, if done propperly a cool-tube could be the answer...But you'll have to go nutz with reflective Mylar :)

An O-Zone generator and Ona Blocks/sprays will keep odors at bay! Ona is safe, moderatly cheap and natural... O-Zone generators do carry a health warning but there are ways to do it so there is Zero health risk.. they can be expensive but will leave the air smelling as fresh as the air outside after a rainy thunderstorm (very good) !!

AK-47 is relativley low in odor, and still packs a nice punch! .. How many plants do you plan to nurture ??

If you could post some pics of your cab as it is now I'll see if I can interject some good ideas :)

Sorry not replied sooner... I've been in hospital with a broken wrist (Long-Boarding accident ~ lol) but using my computer keypad is really helping with the movement of my fingers.. and I have weed as a mild pain killer and relaxant.. so lifes good despite the injury...

Be good to see pics soon :) - STELTHY :leaf:

WOW...thanks everyone for all the feed back very appreciated....So i think by stelthy advice im going to go with the AK47 and im going to go with the 250w to try and keep the temps down as i don't have that much space and the last thing i need is to stress my plant out because when the lights go off over here in the last grow i had which was in the same closet they dropped to 20 deg celcius which is 68 farenheit....that was in the summer and where heading to the winter now.....Im going to mount the extraction fan outside the grow box in the picture below where the clothes are now and it will be in a cardboard box hanging with bungy cords off the metal rail....Im planning to have the rail to go through the grow box so that i can hang the light...As you can see there is a window over the door facing the closet door when its open so i can't bring ducting across the room to the window...as for the ozone gen stelthy unfortunatly its the room we sleep in so i don't want to go down that root i was thinking of the ona gel with a carbon filter which i already have....This also is not my property so can't deface the place that much lol....but am thinking off removing the shelf replacing with a sheet of plywood and maybe putting the fan up there so when im finish i can remove the shelf put in the orginal and no one is the wiser...Check out the pics anyway where the linen shelf thingy is is where the side wall of the grow box will go....And as the shelf finishes before the closet door im going to have the box door flush with that to try and get as air tight as possible...

yea i'd go with a 4 in inline fan for exhaust and 6 in booster for intake. I know you said ur gonna go with the 250 do you or anyone else think that 2 150 watts instead of a 250 watt would have much of a difference as far as yeild and heat? would the increase in temp cross out the possible increase in yield or vice versa given that theres an extra 50 watts and two lamps?

I see what your saying bro 2 150w would have alot more light...like i was planning to have a floor on the grow box about half a foot up and cut 2 squares out to have the 2 pots sit on flush with the rest of the pots below the shelf line so the root system would be cooler than the plant itself....I was then hoping to have 3 inline fans one on each side of the pots and one inbetween getting a good air flow coming up from the bottom...Now the thing is i see alot of people using is the computer fans small and quite but i can't figure out how i can get these set up to a mains supply.....I see what your saying aswell kush groove about cutting a whole in the roof that could be possible alrite and save the cut out to put back at a later stage....Now another question would it be better to have the extractor fan inside the grow box with it feeding out through the carbon filter outside the grow box or would it be better to have the fan outside and the carbon filter inside???...Thanks everyone for your help so far...

I just attacked the cupboard at the top of it theirs a section that i can remove big enough to fit ducting through allowing me to have the fan above in the attic....The section can then be replaced and no one will be the wiser...Thats one thing sorted in terms of the smell and also noise due to the fan now the temps is the next thing....Im going to try and research how i can get the computer fans attached to a mains supply with out burning out the motor....The Fan i have for extraction is a 5" or 150mm i have some accustic ducting aswell to help....

Well i found on ebay a 12v computer fan controller with 4 bay's which is perfect i can connect this to the 3 fans i'll have on the bottom of the grow box and use an old phone charger for a power supply...the best thing is it has a speed control for each individual fan which is a serious plus....Im going to go ahead with one 250w but before i go ahead and purchase it im going to borrow my friends 400w run it for 2 days with no plants inside and monitor the temps to see if its too much if it is i'll go ahead and purchase the 250w seems as how there's only €20 in the difference between the 2 lights....Just a quick question for everyone would it be benefical for me to create a CO2 reactor for the grow box its the same room myself and my girlfriend sleep in and i can also leave the window of the room open during the day keeping fresh air in there constantly...

€10 so grand and cheap fingers crossed that it will work out anyway man....You can look for the fan controllers on ebay and you can get them in 3 pin or 4pin so by having 2 different fans you'll prob have to buy 2 fan controllers you might be able to wire a 3 pin to a 4 pin strip all the wires and touch them together until you find a combination of 3 that'll make it work...its 12v anyway you'll see a spark but you won't feel anything....

I have a very similar amount of space as you. I have sliding doors in my closet, and leave them open 2ft or so. A 450CFM 6" vortex with speed control sucks the air through a carbon filter, and routes it to the ceiling area of the closet. Them I have the passive intakes only a couple of inches above the floor. Warm air rises to the top and gets distributed back into the bedroom.
