C-99 Grow Log

I am new to these forums, but was on OG back when it was up, and most recently CC. I wanted to try somewhere new, so I decided to give RIU a try. I have been growing my own medical mj for the past 3 yrs, and actually went to school for horticulture for 2 yrs to learn about plant biology and whatnot.

Well as the title says, this is my C99 grow log. I will be posting at least weekly updates here, and comments and suggestions are always welcomed.

Now for the "specs" of the grow.
For veg, the plants are under 250watts worth of CFLs, and will be moved under a 600watt A/C HPS for flower.

For veg, the plants get the Fox Farms line of nutes. I used to use them for flower as well, but this will be my first run with Botanicare Pure Blend Pro. I use FF Ocean Forest for both veg and flower. I will be growing in 8" sq pots, and usually have to water ever 3 days or so. I feed with every watering, and my cab is 3'x3' with a HydroFarm Radiant 6 air cooled reflector. I usually water at about 6.4-6.8 pH, and the temps in my cab will be about 85-90 degrees as I will be running Co2 for flower.

During flower the feeding schedule will look something like this:

WEEKS 1 AND 2 - Pure Blend Pro Bloom, Sweet, Liquid Karma, Fox Farms Open Sesame

WEEKS 3 AND 4 - PBP Bloom, Sweet, Liquid Karma, FF Beastie Bloomz

WEEKS 5, 6, AND 7 - PBP Bloom, Sweet, Liquid Karma, Botanicare Hydroplex

WEEK 8 - Flush with GH Flora Kleen

This schedule is bound to change due to conditions, plants needs, etc. But this will be my base to work from.

I sprouted 15 C99 that were given to me by a member from another forum. I now have it down to 5 females, 3 of which I will flower this time. I like to leave space for my "trusted" strains when adding a new one to the mix just to make sure I get something worth smoking. Those others will be Purple Urkel, Ice, and Papaya. I also just got some White Widow clones from the club, so those may go in as well.

If I forgot to mention anything, or if you have questions or comments, I'd love to hear them.
And here are some pics. Let me know what you think. These pics were just taken tonight, and the plants are about 4-5 weeks old and were just topped about a week ago.

Here are a couple more pics. The first two are of my "mutant" plants. One has like a conjoined twin there on the bottom, it is weird. The other pic shows how they both have 3 nodes instead of two. I have read every where that these are not good to flower, so I don't know if I ever will.

The last one it of my Urkel mother. It was bought from a so cal club about 2 yrs ago, well not this exact one, but I have been working with the same clone line for 2yrs. It is one of my favorites I've ever grown.

And here are some of what is in flower right now. These are the reason these C-99 are not flowering yet (Sorry about the HPS orange). There is Purple Urkel, Ice, and 2 different phenos of Papaya in there right now. It will be done it like 8 days or so.

Well I've been busy building my new cab, so I haven't had time to take new pics of the plants. But if you'd like, you can see the progress of my new cab that I will be using for this grow here https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/94340-my-new-grow-room.html
Its almost finished, and should be done on mon. I will have new pics of the plants before they go into flower, and will be able to update more often since I wont be building anything.

I finally finshed my cab, and it took forever!! But its pretty much done, and I'm tired of working on it. I threw in some pics of my cab just because I put some much time into it, and well, I'm damn proud of it:mrgreen:

The girls went under the 600watt light tonight at about 10pm. Since the table isn't built yet, they are a little ways from the light. I only have 6 plants in flower right now for two reasons.

First, I had a cloning disaster about 8weeks ago but I was lucky enough to get some cuttings rooted from my flowering plants so I didn't lose any strains. I built a new cloner for that batch of clones, and turns out that was a bad idea. I lost 14 or 16 clones. I hadn't lost a clone in like a year, so I guess it was just my time. I have since gone back to using my old cloner.

The second reason, I ran out of soil on Sun night, and the damn hydro shop is closed sun and mon. I will be adding 1 more White Widow clone and possibly 2 mutant C-99 to join the 3 C-99, 1 Ice, and 2 White Widows already in there.

The C-99 are in the large pots, the Ice is in a white pot but is larger than the WW. The 2 WW are a little small because I just got them from the shop the other day. Hopefully they will have a nice stretch during flower so I get a decent yield. Depending on how all this stuff fits, I may go get a few more clones from the shop and throw them right into flower. I'm sure I won't get much off of them, but they are only like $10-$15 a piece, and I'm sure I'll get more than that.

If the plants look a little unhappy, its because they are. I was too lazy to water, so they sat in the dark for almost 3 days. They are recovering quickly, but they looked bad for a min.

They just got their first batch of bloom nutes. I'm using pure blend pro for the first time. I mixed it with all my additives to 1100ppm and a pH of 6.6. We'll see how these nutes work out. Everything was at half strength and still came out to 1100ppm, so I'm going to have to watch that. But with using the CO2 I should be able to run a little higher nute levels.

The C99 was sensitive to N in veg, but this was mentioned in an article about the strain, so it was expected. If I end up with nute burn after this watering, I will drop it down. But I was running higher than this with my other strains before without any problems, so we'll see.

Any and all comments and suggestions are welcomed.

This is my first run with this strain, so I don't know how its going to turn out. I got the seeds from a member on a different forum. They said they were bred from Brothers Grimm stock, and were bred to an F4. The 3 I have look very similar, so I'm assuming the buds should be similar as well.
The C99 is a version of Jack Herer (or however you spell it.) It is just a special pheno of it. As soon as they are finished I will let you know how they smoke.
Updates will be coming at least weekly.

I finished most of the table. I just have to waterproof it, and drill the drainage holes. I am so happy this whole thing is almost done.

I will have some updates on the girls on mon. THey are looking good so far, lots of growing this past week.

Well here are some updates. The pics kind of suck, sorry about that. I may have to water tonight. I'm not sure I will have to check. If I do, I will be leaving the the Open Sesame out this watering.
My temps have been getting a little higher than I'd like, but its only for about 10 min at a time during the last bit of Co2. They get up to like 95, but its for such a short period of time, I'm not too worried about it. I'm going to try running my a/c a little lower to see if that helps.
I finally finished the table, but I need to put plastic on the floor and I am being lazy.
Let me know what you guys think.

looking gorgeous buddy. Are those white containers 3 gallon ones and have you been using them before. I wanted to experiment white ones versus black ones.

Thanks Cali.
The black ones are 3gal, the white ones are 8" inch squares. I am not sure how many gallons they are. They do sell them in 10" and 12" sizes. I think the black 3gal ones are like 12" across, so the 10" sq would probably be the same volume.
I like them. Mainly because they are sq and fit better in the room. I haven't noticed any difference in white vs black containers. They may stay a little cooler than the black ones by reflecting the heat, but other than that, I wouldn't see much of a difference. But the sq part is great. My veg pots are white sq's as well and work good too.

I set up a new fan in my cab, and now my temps are staying closer to 90-92 with the exhaust off, and with the exhaust on, it is sitting anywhere from 82-86 degrees.

I just watered the other day with 900ppm nutes. I didn't use the Open Sesame this time around, and I think I will be doing a light flush with the next watering. I used to always put about 1/2-1 gal of plain water through the soil before I added nutes, but I stopped doing that. My runoff was quite a bit higher than the nutes going in, so I don't want a build up. I have just watering with everything at half strength, and it seems to be working well.

The Co2 seems to be having a decent effect on the plants. If I had an a/c unit, it would be working better, but I take what I can get. The plants are already starting to bud a bit. The C-99 are seeming to start flower the fastest out of the Ice and WW. The Ice is usually finished in 56 days, so the C-99 may finish sooner than that. This is the first run with the WW, but they are stretching nicely considering how small they were going into flower.

The plants just got introduced to some bondage tonight. I LST'd the C-99's because they are stretching like crazy. I was told they stretch a lot, and they didn't lie. I have a favorite out of the three, it is a nice short bushy sativa. Yeah I said it, a short bushy sativa. I'm stoked.:hump:

Let me know what you guys think.

Well the plants are looking great. I gave them a big flush being worried that I may have been running the ppms too high. But the plants look a little yellowed now, so I am not worried about running at around 1000-1200ppm. I was a little nervous since C-99 is supposed to be a finicky feeder, but I haven't had too many problems.

I just started using the Beastie Blooms tonight. The C-99 and the Ice are taking off and starting to bud. But the White Widow are barely doing anything. They better start picking up the pace.

I have sort of stopped using the Co2. I am going to try and get an A/C aspap so I can start running it again. I want to be able to just seal my room and vent like every 3 hrs. We will see if that happens. I have been keeping my temps closer to 80-83 degrees now. I will give the plants some Co2 every now and again, but its not the 6 shots it was getting before.

Well here are the new pics. You can see that the WW is way behind my sweet Cindy. There is also a pic of my drainage system on my table and also my cloner with the next round rooting.

Here are some updates. Doesn't look like too many people are paying attention to it, but hey, I'll keep posting pics.
They were fed tonight with Pure Blend Pro, Liquid Karma, and Sweet at 1100 ppm and a pH of 6.7. I am doing the FF solubles every other watering now.
Even at half strength with everyting, my ppms are still at 1100. I am glad I started on the light side.
Well here are the pics. The one that is doing nothing is the white widow. I don't know wtf is going on there.

Post a link to your thread and I'll check it out. I couldn't find it when I looked.

I ended up with spider mites from the WW clones. They had them when I got them from the shop, but thought I had gotten rid of them all. Guess I was very wrong.

The WW got chopped due to all the mites. They were way behind the other plants anyway.

The C-99 and the Ice got watered with neem oil. I have never watered with it, but it seems better to have the entire plant filled with neem so I don't miss any spots. It is suppose to last 2-4 weeks in the soil, so it will be gone by the time I harvest. I am also going to get some sort of spray as well. I am going to apply it to each individual leaf by hand to ensure a good coat. Then I will repeat the process again in like a week. Hopefully this will get rid of the little bastards.

The C-99 and Ice don't have any mite damage yet, so I think I may have caught it early enough. The WW's had white spots all over some of the leaves, and even some webs on some of them. But luckily the others weren't too bad. I can see them on the undersides of the leaves, but at least there is no damage showing on the leaves yet.

Wish me luck in this battle. I will have updated pics the next time I water. It should be in like a day or two.
