First of all I'm blazed off my ass and don't feel like finding some other forum to get advice on this. This is the only internet forum i read daily. I know, gross nerd.
Anyways, on Saturday I'm going into the dealership to finish up the deal on my new truck. Have a question about how the factory rebates work.
MSRP = $40,700. Factory rebate = $4,000.
This would bring my price to 36,700. Now my question is does this "factory rebate" have anything to do with the dealership? What I plan to do is try to get them to sell me the truck below MSRP AND give me the rebate. So I would be paying around 33,000 for the truck. So is a 37,000$ offer on a 40.7k truck reasonable even if I'm expecting the 4,000$ rebate as well? I'm just not sure if the $4,000 rebate should be included in my offer on the msrp. I'm assuming it shouldn't because it's from the factory and has nothing to do with the dealership. Any info is appreciated.
