ok, so I planted some plants outside in the woods and by morning some kind of bug ate them down. How do you plant outside and prevent that ?
And what kind of bugs are eating them ?

Or deer. Or rabbits. Or possums. Or.... ____________________________________. ;)

Tobacco tea is a good pesticide. 10 grams per liter of hot water (not boiling), steeped overnight, strained, add a drop of liquid soap (non-antibacterial/anti-microbial, that stuff's BAD), spray ALL surfaces, and include the soil surface.

Green light brand Neem Oil. OMRI approved, get it at home depot or Lowe's. Get the concentrate, not the pre-mixed liquid. The concentrate is like $2 more than the pre-mixed shit, which is only like a pint, and it makes something like 32 gallons.

If they went down that fast.. it was grasshoppers & or pill bugs (aka-rollie pollies). They are both mean ass little bastards with a serious hunger.

Go buy some really cheap hot sauce. The $ 1 a bottle kind, mix two ounces of your hot sauce with one gallon of water. Mist the area all around where you intend to grow.
.
Don't do it if the wind is blowing, cause smoke is not the only thing that sucks to get in your eyes. Wait a few days, go back & prep your holes for planting.
.
Don't put plants, smaller than a foot in the great outdoors - bugs will get small plants, because they are soft & tender. The hot sauce will run them off, follow that up with some Prytheum (all organic / non-toxic to humans) Powder. Most garden centers have it. It's a dust, comes in a cardboard (shake it out type) dispenser. Use it weekly, dust the ground from the main stem outward two feet. It will kill your pests - stone cold dead....
.
Hope this helps..

Slugs and snails are another good bet and a huge potential pest problem. They come out in the dark and early morning while its moist and cool out. They can do incredible damage.

This late in the year, grasshoppers are big and eat alot too.

I had a slug problem earlier in the season. Diatomaceous earth saved my arse. Good shit.

Yup we have alot of pill bugs and grasshoppers over here, freaking crickets too. So it sounds like everybug will eat them. And yes that was my mistake I placed 6 inch plants out there. Well now i have some great advice to use from all of you and a lesson learned. But to bad I have to wait till next season.
thanks all.
