Bud Root

Hello guys,

We want to share with you. situation that we are dealing with in our last phase of flowering: bud root
- we recently changed the hps lights to leds and the humiditidy took us by surprise - it has grown very fast to more than 80%. With the old lights, the humidity was on a stble level.
- as I mentiond, the humidity is more that 80% and it is very hard for us to lower it, even with the air conditioning on.
- recently we forgot to open the fans, and they stayed closed for 10 days Due to this we noticed some mold on some of the buds - like a spider web.

What is to be done? Fast harvest - even if they needed one more week in the flowering phase? Or should we take care of the buds where the mold appeared?

If you know it's rot, remove any buds you can see it in and pray for the rest. You'll come across more during harvest that you were not aware of, so look it over very well.
Also, a 50 pint dehumidifier helps tremendously during flower.

If it’s humid where you live bud rot can be an uphill battle. Big ass buds are great but in my exp the bigger they are & the tighter the nodal spacing is that can spell cobweb mold especially in tight and poorly ventilated spaces. Once it sets in it will ruin everything eventually. All you can do is quarantine the rot; snip it all out and hope the rest is not already developing mold. You’ll know if the rest of it is fucked later when you finally dry/cure and it smells like hay.
Up here in New England this time of year it is hot as balls and sticky; we have to run a dehumidifier 24/7 along with central a/c just to get our bud to fully dry. I have a rather large plant hanging now that has me concerned about rot; it is truly among the worst heart break you can encounter as a home grower. Usually bud mold occurs before in late flowering; you can see it from the outside if you catch it early but once it sets the whole cola will be affected. Concentrate is really the only viable option at that point. Prevention is key. Good luck and my condolences on any losses you have incurred.

I use 2 Quest Dual 155 in my 1000 sq/ft space to maintain 50% RH without them running nonstop.

Also, that weed is not salvageable you should destroy it all. Mold kills people.
