My girl is three weeks into flower and the white hairs are begging to turn redish at the tips? Should this be happening so early?

lol dude pretty ironic that you're asking this given your signature. Your answer is right there: just let it happen. hah couldn't not point that out.

No worries! Red tips are the start of ripening flowers. When they get mostly red you'll be close to picking, Naturally I'm available for on site quality evaluations...Dude!

the oldest pistils have reached the end of their life cycle so they are replaced by new ones(not in the same area as the dead pistil). its normal.

yeah that could be cause for worry, but the pistils aren't a problem. it won't be a big deal one time but you should get a timer for sure. bad idea to trust stoners with something as important as your plants.... wait... :eyesmoke:

yeah man, get a timer. its very important the light cycle does not have like one day where it gets a lil more or less than the day b4 then have the next day be longer or....well, you see what i mean, i hope. if not lemme know, i'll be happy to help if you dont. at random instead of staying put or slowly decreasing. it will put it into veg-flowering limbo or hermie it if you do it more than a few times. it confuses the plant.

as long as u click ur light on and off in flower so ur plants are getting any where from 11 1/2 to 12 1/2 hours of light a day ur fine..somedays i feel like my plants get to much light and temps run high sometimes so i click off my lights 30minutes earliar..but no matter what my times dont chage but the amount of light may but only like i said and it doesnt turn em herm or stress em..might make em grow fatter buds

thats not true. if you give it 12 1/2 one day and 11 1/2 the next then 12 1/2 the next day and keep doing that you WILL hermie your plant or have it get stuck in the limbo where its not sure what to do since its hormones levels are flucuating up and down.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I do already have a timer. I'm running 8 cfl's right now 6 2700k which are on the timers and 1 5500k and a 6500k which aren't on the timers. It was just those two that were left on over night. I usually turn those two lights on and off a ways before the main six come off or on. Could that cause harm?

as long as your plants get 12 hrs of uniterupted darkness and you follow a set on/off schedule everyday its fine, i'd get another timer. myself.

bull, youve got no idea what your talking about. you ask any seasoned grower here they will all say the same thing. YOU MUST HAVE CONSISTENT ON AND OFF TIMES FLOWERING. its one of the most important things for budding, how have you gotten this far and still not be able to understand that?

if you think about the idea that an odd light cycle will turn your plant into a hermie logically I think you should realize it doesn't make any sense. A plant living outdoors does not have even close to a consitant to the minute light cycle the light cycle is different by a few minutes every day. So according to that idea should every single marijuana plant in nature be a hermaphrodite?

What happens in nature is that the days get shorter when a ganja plant flowers and the nights get longer, hence a MJ plant wouldnt suddenly get more light, more likely less. As long as u keep at least around 12 of darkness or more ur fine, but playing w the lights and suddenly lengthen the day again by say 1 hour can make a plant hermie, not saying it will but it can happen as some 1 stated earlier in this thread when hormones fluctuate.

thats a myth to..at least 14hours at the end of flowering doesnt herm my plants..i try alot of shit and this is one i have..the only reason i did 14hours at the end of flowering is because i heard it helps ur plant process more sugars to the buds and use all its energy..just the last week tho
