Greetings. Just to start out, I have a White Dwarf, Lemon Skunk, and Power Kush a-brewing in a fairly small closet. I am cooking them in a Bubbleponics setup. I followed some retards guide saying to add 1/4 nutes to seeds and ended up wasting 3 perfectly good germinated seeds, and this time around two of the three germinated seeds I added to the system have came up. I have a very high powered fan that is used for cooling computer servers, and also a regular bathroom vent box with a circular port in the side that has about 8 feet of ducting to it. The small closet is lined with Mylar and contains a Dual 600w HPS/MH fixture pumping off of a Lumatek Ballast. MH is currently in it, of course.
The big 600w bastard has been left off for the past two days of continuous lighting so that two fluorescent sticks can hang down almost touching the sprouts, as I learned early on that they would topple over under the intensity of the HID. One of the sprouts has a very weak stem due to a pinch in it from being too hot under the HID when it first came up, so I put some circles cut out of the bottom of two Styrofoam plates with little squares in the middle over the plants, and right now I use the plate on that sprout to keep it facing upward so it can further develop and get strength in its stalk.
My question is, are these two regular stick fixtures giving enough light to make the plants develop successfully until I believe they are strong enough for the HID? I have been keeping them on a 24hr regimen, but I was planning on doing 18/6 once they switch over to the HID. Is a 24hr. lighting preferred over 18/6, or does that time of darkness actually help the natural growth cycle? When is it too late to risk switching a lighting schedule from 24hrs to 18/6? And finally, when should I add the nutrients into the system... two weeks? After the roots can be seen at the bottom of the net pots?
Please help me grow a big bush, because everyone knows a bush is big when your penis is tiny. Thanks!
