Bubble Gum ~ Extrema ~ True Blueberry x Chemdog

I know I am new here but I am getting ready to start a new grow and I have decided I want to keep a journal for some reason. I have been checking out a couple sites over the past week and I think I would like to journal a grow here if you don't mind.

I picked up some seeds from TH Seeds and some from sannie's shop for my next grow.

Strain #1: Bubble Gum
Breeder: Serious Seeds
Seedbank: TH Seeds

Strain #2: Extrema
Breeder: Sannie
Seedbank: sannie's shop

Strain #2: True Blueberry x Chemdog (freebeis from sannie)
Breeder: Sannie
Seedbank: sannie's shop

I will start by soaking all 20 seeds in RO water. As soon as they all crack I will put them into 4 inch pots with a light organic soil mix until they sprout and develop a good enough root system to be up potted.

Feel free to comment, ask questions and give input and constructive criticism.

After my seeds show a rootlet I drop them each in 1 gal pots with FFOF and 25% perlite. They come up fast and furious every time.

I use FFOF also but usually start my seeds in a soiless. Do you think the bigger (deeper) pot is better for the tap root to shoot down further? Does it help in root development at all? I use the tall #3 nursery pots to flower in. They are 3 gallon but only 11 inches round and a bit taller than the 12 inch pots.

I prefer my plants to stay short as possible so I use short fat 7 gallons. Root development is everything. So I start with tall 1 gallon so (like u said) long tap root and good structure. I wait to transplant until the plant looks like it's going to bust out. That way I have a nice soild root ball, then I go to a 5 or 7 gallon and watch her try and fill it out, with bush not height. 3 gallons are fine too, I was using them forever, and I had tall ass plants indoors. Thats why I know go with 5-7 short fat pots. Pictures below are in 5 gallon Home depot buckets (tall).

OK I have the seeds soaking now and they should be ready by tomorrow sometime. I should probably take this time to fill you all in on the growing conditions.

Growing Method: Organic Soil, I will start with Fox Farm Ocean Forest and mix in a bit of Coco and Perlite to give it a little better structure. I will also add in some Sweet Dolomite Lime and some fine ground Epsom Salts for better PH stability and Cal Mag. Last but not least I will ad in some Myco Maximum from Humboldt Nutrients. This should make for a nice medium for the duration of the grow.

Container: #3 Tall Nursery Pots (3 gal)

Lighting: 400W MH for vegetative growth, Two 600W HPS for Bloom

Lighting Schedule: Vegetative 18/6, Transition and Flower 12/12

Room Size: 6ft x 4ft

Ventilation: 430 cfm CanFan with carbon scrubber, Filtered fresh air inlet.

Environment: Vegetative growth Temp 75 deg F (24 deg C) RH @ 65%, Flower Temp 80 deg F (26 deg C) RH @ 55% for the first 3 weeks and then lower gradually over next few weeks to finish @ 40%.

Nutrients: Humboldt Grow Natural & Bloom Natural, Deuce Deuce

Additives: Humboldt Flavorful & Hum-Bolt, Mayan MicroZyme, ProZyme, Myco Madness, Humboldt Roots & Humboldt Honey ES

Since all of these strains lean heavier to the Indica side I don't anticipate height being a problem so I plan to veg them until they all show gender before I flip them to 12/12 lighting schedule.

The Bubblegum is an IBL so I plan on collecting some pollen for a future project if I get a nice male.

Sounds solid man. I flooded my FFOF soil with the Humbolts Mycro Madness before adding seedlings in. Oh also being Organic and all, do buy some nematodes to keep the gnats away. If you see a few in garden thats fine because they will lay eggs and feed the nematodes. One more thing, when they get into the veg stage, and you have them in 3 gallon pots, leave some room to lay some mulch across the top. That will allow the micro beasties to thrive without heat/light killing off the one's that venture to roots above, and keep roots above safe.
