BRRR, my plants!

The temps here are getting so cold! I have converted a shed into a grow room and have been having great success. But, now it is so cold. I have 2 heaters in the main part of the "clubhouse". It was 32 this morning in there. I have put heaters in the veg room and the flowering room. The temps have gotten down in the 40's in both rooms. 2 of my plants are just days away from being ready to harvest, but I'm afraid of the drying temp being too cold. Are my plants going to be ok in that weather? And, if I harvest, will they dry alright?

Sounds to me like your room/s are too big or not insulated. If you have 2 heaters going and the temps are still at 40...? I use a tiny 1500w heater in a 4x6 room and only have to run it at 1/2 power when it's 28 degrees outside. I'd insulate when you get finished with this run. Insulation is cheap! In the mean time I'd buy a roll of plastic and make a temp wall enclosing only the area you are growing in, essentially making the room smaller you're trying to heat.

Thank you. I used a shed on a permanent foundation to use as my growroom. I live in NM and the temps have NEVER been like this as long as I've lived here, but it's getting well below zero and I'm worried about my girls! Do you think I should wait on harvesting? Will drying be a problem in this cold? My last few plants have been amazing and I do not want to ruin these. They are super frosty and beautiful and I cannot imagine ruining them during drying.
EEK! I am praying for warmer weather.
It gets really hot here in the summer and I didn't have a problem keeping it cool in there with a small window A/C unit. I think it's insulated, but even my house is incredibly hard to keep warm right now and we have a fire going 24/7, plus the heater is on.

I can't really say as to whether or not to harvest. I can say that 40 degrees is not good. I would try to fix that asap. A roll of plastic is $20. I would strongly suggest buying some and using a staple gun, sectioning off a smaller area in your room so that temps are easier to maintain. Are you bringing fresh air from outside? Maybe lower the amount of air you're bringing into the room as well. Dry your buds in a rubbermaid tote in your house.

they will be ok if your not far of mate, try not to let them get below 40 because that will stop them growing full stop...as M Y said try to tent them in with plastic or cardboard or something.. hope all goes well..

my grow is in the GARAGE. it too got down to 35 degrees last night during lights off. I have to move plants INdoors while they sleep. literaly in my room. Dont worry, if their only in Veg. it will only slow them down a lil.

Thanks people. I cannot move them in the house as I am raising my grandkids! I will get them warmed up by making their rooms smaller when their lights come on tonight! I will wait a few days to harvest as it is supposed to warm up by next week.
