Brown spots

Hey all, can anyone ID this issue? The "check here first" sticky wont load pics for me. Only one of 4 plants has this issue. The affected leaves are from mid to top. New growth unaffected. In 3 gallon soil, FF nute line. Flushed 2 weeks ago. Run off ph is around 6-6.3. Watered 3x/wk; nute, water, nute. Temps are 75-79 under cfl 5-6" away. Also, should the affected leaves be pulled? Thanks in advance!

I'm battling the same thing right now with a few of mine. A good flush with added cal mag helped on all but two. Get botanicares cal mag plus and use it with every feed. What kind of water are you using? You need to go ahead and flush and get some cal mag running because it will spread mainly just straight up. Either that or a ph problem possibly.

Yea that was my guess I see some of the green leaves still have brown tips. Calcium def looks about right but what is the growing medium? If your in hydro or coco those ph you mentioned are fine but if your in soil then you are to low. Check PH before your put it in and in coco or hydro is needs to be after adding all nutes and supplements 5.5-6.5 and in soil it needs to be higher but not sure the numbers as I never have used soil. After getting the right ph and then adding the cal mag, I use GH CALiMAGic and it works like a charm. That should do it and you might be over watering also make sure your letting them dry a little before giving them water again. I would flush them on the next water,check ph after adding everything to the water. Then give them some calmag on the following feed. Should do the trick but I am saying my opinion. I am no where close to some of these seasoned growers on RIU so I hope you get more answers. Good luck

I also forgot,I said to you what happened to me and what I did and it fixed my girls so its just my opinion based on past experience.

Hey Dudes, I think I can help if you lend me an ear. So coco is a medium with a couple rules of thumb that should be followed to get healthy production. 1. Coco is not soil do not treat as such 2. Coco requires increased Cal-Mag supplementation as it binds on to it making it less available.3 Coco needs substantial runoff 20% to avoid toxic buildup of salts. 4.never flush without 300ppm cal/mag a/b solution at the weakest. 5. Coco needs to be re-buffered sometimes and prior to initial use in most cases with common brands. The natural ph of coco is 6.1 out of the bag and a 300 ppm rinse of 5.8ph h2o will break that and drop it into ideal range.....I am going to start with this so as not to overwhelm. Runoff, 20% less nuts than hydro, cal-mag!!!! If you need more I can elaborate.

Thanks once again all. I suspected cal mag deficiency. Just a lot of conflicting info on the internets. Lol. Hey whit! I updated my journal with 1 month flower pics. They're getting real thick. The main tops are coming in at close to 2 inches thick, totally solid. All the secondary ones are close to an inch thick a piece. I think i could have vegged a bit longer to even out the canopy and get a little more length on the colas but i kinda jumped the gun. So glad I got the HID lamp. I don't think the density would be the same. Anyway, flushed last night with close to four gallons before I achieved adequate run off. Gonna water next with cal mag in a few days then start up nutes slowly. Should be ready to flower when the other 2 are harvested. Thanks again guys!

You might want to flush a little harder than that. Try for 3x the pot size. Also try to flush for two "waterings" and then mix up the last gallon of water with 1 tbsp of big bloom and 1 tsp of cal mag. Let us know how this works for you, the leaves that are damaged will get worse and eventually die off, just make sure your new growth looks good.
