Breeding for different types of Highs

I am curious if anyone knows of any breeders that focus on breeding for different types of highs. It seems that most breeders focus on strength, bad appeal, color and smell.

If you could breed for different high factors, what would you try to achieve?

Here are the different things I would shoot for. Admitedly there are limits to what can be done but you never know what can be done until you have tried.

- A MDMA style euphoria, basically transforming the trippy high of a good sativa with the loved up high of MDMA IF we can synthesize it maybe we can cultivate it in a plant.
- A strain that makes me more motivated the next day, not less. - I hate fighting to keep motivated when I smoke, it is a huge downside IMO
- A strain that increases sociability and can counter act anxiety - The closest I have found to this was kannabia smile, every time my girl and I smoked it we ended up in long conversations. If we were watching a movie or TV show we would end up turning it off and talking for hours.

I don't have a place to do it but if I did I would be crossing different sativas and focusing on quality over quantity. I think there is a huge amount of potential in this area as it is mostly an untapped field. I also think this may be where we still have a lot discover about marijuana. Is there anyone already doing this? I have not been able to find to many sativa only crosses. If we aren't careful, one day we may not have pure sativa strains needed to do such work, everything will be some hybrid.

There is no such thing right now. There are "CBD" strains, but those buds are less for high, and more for pain killing, nausea etc.

I plan on breeding bud that's better for getting high, but that's gonna take a while.

Finshaggy - getting high is more then just thc vs cbd. There are different arrays of cannabinoids in every strain of pot. Why do you think that different pure sativas or indicas give you different highs. We have lots of experience in creating hybrids to try and give us different ballances between sativa and indiaca. We could break that down much further by giving quantitative qualities to the high experienced and then working towards breading for the experience we want. This is not much different then breeding for interesting phenotypes, the goals are just different. Personally I think breeding based on the high experience could produce much better products.

I was just using mdma as an example of what I would like to see. Some types of pot make people more introspective, what about growing pot that makes people more extrospective? Granted every experiences things a little different but I am sure that you could create strains where the vast majority have similar experiences.

There's already far too many strains to keep track of... I personally research a strain for the type of high I want before I smoke it. There are many sites quantifying how 'Euphoric', 'Lazy', 'Outgoing', 'Creative', 'Relaxed' etc that strain makes an average amount of users feel, and a 'good for...' (eg 'chilling out with videogames')descriptive tagline.

I agree with what you said, but I thought people already breed for the type of high they want (though I know yield and aesthetic appeal are other factors to some). We just don't need a strain called 'for-a-quiet-evening-on-the-couch-with-just-the-right-amount-of-head-throbbing' when you could look at a strain guide or something.

I don't mean to step all over what you're saying though x

I would be happy with a very good couch lock sleepy kind of med and a true trippy euphoric type in seed form.

How spoiled you people are, where I'm from as long you get high regardless of the 'type', you're grateful. Synthen......what!? Blasphemy!
