Brand New 1000W Ballast DEAD?

Ordered the 1000W kit linked below, received Oct. 20th and it's worked fabulous. Until today, Nov. 3rd.

It worked perfectly yesterday and was working last night when I unplugged it.

Today I went to turn my lights on and my ballast wouldn't kick up. No fan, no noise, nothing.

I've plugged it in to every single outlet in my house, no fan, no noise, nothing.

The ballast is a Nebula 4.0 and I can't find much on google, why would it stop working all of a sudden overnight while not plugged in and what can I do to fix it?

Contact the seller. They would know why if there is a common reason.

As a musician I am shooting across the sea in the dark here but would guess it's a cheap capacitor. The cap used in startup. Probably a $.03 item but requires electronics knowledge to diagnose and repair. Easier and faster to replace the ballast.

There may be a fuse under where the power cord enters the ballast.

This is for a different ballast, but may help:

Blew a TON of replacement fuses yesterday, the vendor got back to me though with a shipping label to return it. Ended up cutting the s-style plug off the end of the hood and wiring it straight into a 400w magnetic ballast so I could at least run something in there.

I've read a lot of your posts, you're very angsty and your post wasn't necessary. That being said, when I'm forced to choose between buying a cheap lighting kit or letting all my plants die it's pretty obvious which one I'm going to choose. The hood I got is great, obviously the bulb and ballast are of lower quality as any generic electronic is going to be but they're easily replaced down the road. Not to mention most people drop more money on just a hood than I did on everything.

I emailed them right after starting this thread and they got back to me in a few hours with a return shipping label as well as letting me know that 5% of their ballasts fail prematurely and that I'm covered no matter how many break on me. legallyflying can say what he wants about cheaper vendors, but they're willing to replace my shit no matter how many times it breaks unlike a lot of companies who won't even replace something that never got delivered in the place, which is a situation that I'm with a different company selling through Amazon.

Ok that makes me feel alot better! Im gonna purchase a enclosed 8"hood reflector to cover my 6x3

Gonna attach a 420cfm to it.
