bozo here, 1st closet DWC grow

whats up bozo here.

here is my VERY BASIC setup.
-large cardboard box
-2x 100watt cfl 6500k
-60 gal. water pump
-small fan
-shower rod
-chains
-4 port air controller

the box is 20"x24"x48"

the pump blows air into two intake ports on the airtech device. there are 4 export valves that can be lowered or heightened based on how much air you want going through a particular port. since this will function as a cloning set up, two air ports will send air into this tub, the other two ports will send air out of this box into a bigger tote where mature plants will be moved.

the fan circulates air, and since i rarely have to keep this box concealed, i didn't worry about using a venting system. The top and door usually stay open to circulate air continuously.

temp as shown stays mid-70's, humidity stays around 50%

down here is just what i've been doing to the plants, no more grow room details, but read it anyway

i was just experimenting with these seedlings, feeling out this process, because the transplant was the main worry, making sure they took once i put them into my bubble system.

the SMALLEST plant was transplanted first, and the LARGEST was transplanted last. The reason im experimenting before i dive in to this is to find out stuff like this. the plants really need some time to get their root system going in the rockwool before being transplanted into the tote and being fed continuous nutes. the smaller two have been going for a good week with very little growth, although their root systems are still growing, the transplant pretty much killed these two.

the largest plant was showing signs of nute deficiency, the leaves were pale, so i adjusted the pH level that way the water would be at the proper conditions to deliver nutes to the plants. pH stays between 5&6. by adding nutes, vertical growth was successful, but it nute burned the bottom leaves pretty bad. im not going to flush it, the upper leaves look healthier, and these plants aren't staying around much longer as soon as my new seeds all germinate.

any hints or tips feel free, like i said, not trying to save these plants, but if u see something to help me on my next go round, feel free.

I think your light may be to close i use to use the same 6500k cfls and my plants had the same yellowing around the leaves as yours seem to have, id pull your lights back a bit if i were you

hey guys, ill get new pics up real soon, actually man you were dead right about that lighting. it wasn't too hot, but i guess just too intense for the leaves, lifting it off helped alot.

the roots grew like crazy, they got too long and then started to weave itself into a jumbled mess but they are still growing longer/thicker

i kept only one of these, and moved it to its own pot, but i have new seedlings growin right now.

pics coming tomorrow.

At first look of the pictures you posted, I thought you were trying to kill your plant, but now I see its thriving.

dude you need to seal off light to the bottom of your DWC res. Cover it with some tape or spraypaint it black. Any light will cause algae

thanks for the feedback, appreciate that on the algae man, it caused pretty bad root damage already, but i moved them to separate pots got light sealed out now!

quick note on the pics, have the clear tub gone as well as that fourth plant, and have the side growth cfls put up much better positioning now mounted better and not on the t8 light fixture... also you might notice the stretch in the two newer plants. this is because the first one is so compact the new growth from the main stem is getting barely any light cause the fan leaves are so wide and covered everything. as i anticipated the stretch led to much quicker stem-from-stem growth, so hopefully i didn't stretch them too much!

they're looking pretty good, the second round of plants are clearly more healthy than this one i kept from my first round of seedlings, im gonna let these three veg another month then flower probably, i wanna retrofit this closet first to setup a midsize scale grow so i can start veging the new batch when i start flowering these three... so theyll be done to start a rotating harvest, every 2-3 months.

keep it real everyone if you see something i need or have questions post that shit even if its something small cause this is first grow is vital to me learning

peace brochachos...
