Box curing?

I’ll try to sum this up fast. I had a ww x big bud that I wasn’t too happy with. It suffered some neglect towards the end. I cut it and dried it like normal. Smoked some and it was average. Instead of throwing it in a jar I threw it in a cardboard box and let it sit for 3 months or so. I opened the box up and grabbed some off to try and it’s pretty amazing. Very unique. Has anyone ever cured in a box for an extended period of time. I trimmed it and threw it in a jar and it’s great. The rooms humidity is 50 percent pretty much all the time. Once in the jar it jumped up to 55. I figured it would be a dried up mess and I’d make some bubble bag with it or something but it’s now my favorite. Super smooth and very fragrant.
