??? bout the space i have.

Well im a total noob. Im starting to get my frist grow room setup. Its the closet area under my staircase in my basement. I have been doing a lot of reading and looking around on the site, and i still have a few questions. Im in the north east and winters are cold, the basement is on the cooler side. How much is that going to be to my disadvantage?

I plan on wraping the walls up in mylar and using CFLs. Im on a budget. prob shoot for 5 plants for a first run. any pointers would help a ton.

well hopefully your cfl's will keep your temps where you need them if the area isn't too drafty. if you build a grow box and make sure that you control the air inside it with some sort of intake / exhaust fan you should be able to adjust to make your grow work

i been reading, and now i have the setup i think i will use, as far as lighting goes at least. haha. ill use a 400w HPS to flower, and some CFLs to veg with. i will flower 4 at a time, with soil. im lookin into what to do for intake/exhaust issues. any pointers, put them out there.

I have a very similar space and have it set up the same. Also using a 400 hps in a cooltube. But I'm doing a scrog in a dwc hydro, trying my best to control height issues.

My room is in the eaves of the house so I'm venting directly out the roof. Is there a dryer vent nearby the closet you could use?

I'm not American but i'm sure you can pick up some of them polystyrene sheets from walmart?



You know the ones, just line your entire room with them and then cover as normal with mylar or panda film.

It should keep it warm.

If not why not buy a few reptile heat mats and keep them on in there for 20 mins every hour?

the washer and dryer is across the room.. i could easily tap into the exhaust.
