If its the cotyledon leaves, the very first round leaves then yes its normal for them to brown and die off.

What about the first sets of fan leaves? My first 4 sets of fan leaves have gotten decrepit to the point that I just want to clip them, but I've heard a lot of people saying you shouldn't clip them. Should I clip them?

Here are some pics:

Your plant looks ok mate, a tad hungry or overwatered.

I have my own thread and nobody's answered that yet. Do you recall seeing "Sun and Fun in FL" amonst the other threads in Newbie Central? Didn't think so...

Anyway, the original poster's question has been answered (yes, it's okay if the cotyledons fall off). I just felt like adding another "bottom leaves drying up"-related question, if you don't mind.

Hey Londoner, could you check out my thread and let me know how much longer you think I should veg for? I was originally going to veg for 2 months, but after seeing the growth that's happened within 28 days, I'm not too sure I want to veg it that long...especially if it'll have 8-12 weeks flower and grow more.

How long you veg for depends on the strain and what size final plant you want to achieve.

When your plant reaches 1/3-1/2 the desired final height in veg then flower.
