booster scrubber??

I know everyone says that the cheap boosters they sell at home depot are crap as far as cfms go (6" booster says 250cfm... really is 160..) but thats ok im only running 300w cfl in a GL60 tent (2x2x5.3)..

problem is? temps are fine tent sucks in as well i just sit the booster on top of the tent ballasts (holds 100lbs) but i have no idea now what appropriate scrubber to either make or buy (preferebly diy). im set on having it outside my tent pushing air through the scrubber..

Any suggestions? :wall::-(

Check out the freshmaker filters, I got a 2x2 Darkroom for my buddy he is using a 4" freshmaker and a 4" booster fan

do you think id be able to get one that it 6" and just duct clamp and duct tape it on?? this is the only one i found...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Freshmaker-Filter-6%22-Carbon-Filter-Organic--Hydroponics_W0QQitemZ350312169799QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20100202?IMSfp=TL100202209014r34160

....pretty pricy (over $100) and looks too intense for my fan.

i just have an inline booster 6" fan sitting on top for exhaust its only really stand alone rated at 160 cfm which is fine i just need a filter that can still allow my temps to stay at a good temp like they are now.

is there anyway i can just make one that is a crude similar design? i have a bit of activated carbon as well.

Though things look likt the K&N filter i have on my truck. I know they are compleatly diffrent though.

Are the freshmaker filters the real deal?
Are they as good as a Can filter?

Yes and no. It's a trade off, they are really lightweight, can be cleaned and last longer but in really high odor situations they don't stack up. I use a 6" one in my Veg room and there is no odor in the exhaust, every 3 months I take it down and clean it out with a cold water spray.

For a small set-ups like a tent they are more than sufficient and provide minimal air-flow restriction. Prince in your situation I would just use a 4" booster and a 4" Freshmaker. Unless you are going crazy and trying to put some HID's in there . . .

yaaa the problem is that i already went to homedepot and they only had the 6" booster, the 4" is what i originlly was out looking for but i figured bigger is probably better in this case and bought the 6"..

this always allows me to add more light(heat) and still be ok so i dont regret it at this point.

i there an eay way to make a freshmaker type filter or at this point should i just buy it? i already have activated carbon and dont really want to throw YET another 100 bucks down on the filter.. ive seen some pretty cheap and efficient builds but cant get a good design for my specific fan. (would prefer materials i could all pick up from homedepot or lowes theres not really anythng else around here haha)

gonna have roughly 4 lr2's in there dunno how stinky they'll get yet but its all personal so im not really worried about adding a gang of plants in ther and stinking up my apartment hha

You could make your own filter but in the long run I think you will be much happier with the freshmaker. Another option would be to put a 6-4" reducer on your 6" booster fan and just run that out through the smaller 4" freshmaker (which is cheaper).
