image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Hey everyone so I finally bought a microscope today, not the best to say the least but it's 60x and can be attached to my phone camera or used alone. It's pretty cool and does the job i have to get used to it. My delema is I'm in week 5 of flowering of a sativia blue cheese and I knew I wouldn't yield much off this plant because it's been through hell and back, was vegged for a tad over 3 months (needed to due to how sick it was for awhile) and it's just been shocked numerous times throughout its life. BUT it looks amazing for what it is, it stinks to high hell and looks very frosty.

I am hoping to pull at least a half ounce-ounce off of it but, my problem is it looks as if the trichomes are already looking cloudy on I'd say at least 40%-50% of it if not more and some are clearly dark dark Amber here and there. I planned on a good feeding one last time at the end of the week and then start flushing for two weeks and then chop but I'm not sure she has 3 weeks left in her? I'm also noticing more hairs turning brown and being in the middle of week 5 of flower I'm not noticing any explosive changes or even changes to write home about. She also seems to be slowing down a lot so I'm just not sure if she's finishing up super early due to her stressful life . Any thoughts?

Look at the pistls. They are all white still. It has a lot of fattening up to do. Be patient they will produce more trichomee. Keep her fed and watered. As she packs on weight, she wil use more food and water than ever before

Your outside and that means UVB rays from the sun are making the tric's actually color correct!

SO,
you don't have a problem and keep going !!!

Come on back and show us a new set of Pics at 8 weeks completed! Should go around 9, unless the REAL sunlight quickens it up a bit!

Hey Riddle, can you give this guy some "proper" tric coloring shots! You got the store of stock photo's for all occasions

Unfortunately I don't think I can go until 9 weeks although I'd love to! But I'll look at my calendar and do some more calculations! I leave for vacation on oct. 22nd and will be not only gone for a week but I won't even be in the country. Gotta make sure they're properly dried and curing before I leave. I will be doing some really nice strains indoor when I get back though I'll have to start a journal or something. Also my dry room (closet) hovers between 60-70% relative humidity and temps are steady at 70F in there think I'll be ok drying in that RH or no?

I'm a little confused here. So in natural sunlight they go from Amber to red to black? And with artificial lighting they only go from clear then to cloudy and then to Amber? I've only seen people really talk about clear, cloudy and Amber trichs.

No, the translucent amber to red to black is a rare genetic trait found only in Sativa's and is genetically expressed when there is UV present. Clear, cloudy, brown still applies to Indica's. The free chapter of my book explains it

So in a sativia what color trichs would be the proper color to be able to harvest?
Like all things that would be a personal preference, but remember this is a rare trait, not all Sat's do it. I breed for this trait so I see it a lot but most never do, why it's not talked about much

Make sure you're using the microscope to check the trichs on the BUDS...not just the leaves. I see amber on my leaves (and yours) well before I see it on the buds, at least with my indica dominant strains.

Yeah I was checking the Trichs on the actual buds this morning and I'd say 90% of them were still very clear still.
